Hopefully this is all brinkmanship.....

To quote David Baddiel "I still believe "

See this all the time. I personally walked out of a meeting 3 months ago calling off a deal. Had a call 3 hours later. 3 hours after that we signed

Dont want to get your hopes up but both parties credibility is on the line here....

No its dead imo. If its brinksmanship the time to do that was the 22nd dec to give yourself 5 weeks to sort the shit out if it didnt work.

This is too late for it to be brinksmanship.

An offer of £15m represents 75% of what the Al Hasawi family purchased it for. It's hardly as if the value of the club has increased since then. In fact it's annual loss was substantially less, albeit the gap would have been closed somewhat due to the depth of the squad when it was acquired.

Anyone thinking it's worth more than £25m is not living in the real world and I say that with no disrespect intended.

The market value has lifted since then for clubs with infrastructure similar to ours on the basis of the money available in the prem. Thats why there's so many foreign buyers appearing. 15 is very low.

You can't value on speculation.

It may be incorporated into what someone is willing to pay but that's a different matter.

You may be right....who knows. I think there is a fair chance they'll do a deal over the weekend.

Please dont take this wrong, I m no Fawaz fan, but there has to be balance here. Fawaz is desperate to sell, no doubt, so why has this collapsed? Probably because the Americans ( failed in the past with Everton and Swansea, remember) ended up taking the piss, offering only a fraction of their original supposed offer.

I don't think credibility will concern either side, both parties will be able to substantiate their stance in their own mind.

Other posters have like Toms have already alluded to this, while this deal could be dead, JJM is still in the drivers seat.

Fawaz either needs to find the money to run this team or find another investor.

He will be doing this with an angry fanbase. If the team continues to struggle or look like there going down, JJM could still come in and buy at a later date at a cheaper price.

They know Fawaz still has to do something. Maybe JJM is thinking that in Time fawaz will realize His offer is the best. The pressure is all on Fawaz and they know this.

Sadly fans feelings are never considered in these type of things.

Think that's very optimistic thinking...I can't see fawaz going back to them...he would lose face...so that's a non starter

I predict at least 3-4 players gone by months end...and price drops even further

We're going to hell in a hand cart and he is too stupid to see the price is plummeting

Just like I said weeks ago

This would not happen because of Fawaz being a fookwit and the incompetent JJM who can not close deals on football clubs

But some of the fantasists wanted to believe in their delusion that this was not a perfect storm of fookwittery

Can someone who understands this stuff explain to me about the embargo being lifted?

Does that mean fawaz has put his name to the debts on our finances?

I don't hold any hope for any reigniting of this deal...but I'm somewhat stunned he has put his name on the debts

If it wasn't embarrassing enough for Dan, Jon, Woody and all the other bellends on CGF ... owd Dan has now deleated all threads with reference to the takeover and him basically stamping on anyone who disagreed with him.

Its his forum and he will do what he wants. Just as bonkers as Fawaz. Sad fooking pricks.

Says a lot about you that you keep going on there

What I don't understand is if the original agreed deal of £50 million was ready to be signed on 22/12, then why didn't Fawaz sign then? Unless of course the Yanks had already reduced their price at that point?

No he hasn't - just moved it!
But why let facts get in the way of your desperation to have a bitch.

There was clearly a very specific reason that we have called six players back from their loans.

Our 1st team is going to look a lot more youthful by the end of the window isn't it!

Few positives though - they can't do any worse than lose every week as we do now, costs will be significantly down, and they will actually give a shit.

It feels that way and, let's face it, they can't do any worse.

It might actually work in Monty's favour, no egos, just kids willing to work hard and follow instructions.

Sounds a bit optimistic to me, not all of the kids on loan have done well and there's a chance that the best of them may well be sold the way things are looking. And I still think it's a mistake to put kids who are still learning into a lousy team which includes some players who don't give a monkeys. It's just as easy some times to pick up bad habits. If as some have said on here that PM may have lost the dressing room and I tend to think he has, it's not the best setting for kids either. What a bloody shambles.

Spot on.

Last time we were relegated we were full of kids.

Gardner, Beaumont, Robertson, Perch. Probably a few I can't remember. Perch alone ended up with a career.

And then the prospect of starting league one with players like Carayol...
