Hospital staff are facing financial ruin after losing a court battle with a controversial private parking firm over fines.
Nurses, doctors and carers at University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff have racked up penalty charges of nearly £13million from car parks operator Indigo.

Okay it's the Daily Mail so allow for sensationalism.

I'm still of a belief that company should lose all and any public contracts, the Board who supported the company and called them fair fines should be sacked and the Judge should get a job suited their sense.

Maybe issuing tickets.

That belief might change if I can find the transcript but I'm only human so that's my unconsidered initial opinion.

I'll say no more.....

It's a big money cashcow.

And the excuse of maintaining the carpark. How much weedkiller does concrete need?

Fair do's times are tough for everyone and the NHS so charge a block 50p FFS or something like that, but using private parking firms that have proven themselves to be largely scum tell you all you need to know about the NHS chief taking the decision to use their services.

More worried about their end of year bonus would be my guess.

Disgraceful set of affairs.

Torbay Hospital (my local) charges £6 for a 5 hour stay ........

Disgraceful to charge to visit the sick and elderly, perish the thought you attend someone dying for a few days....
