Part of evolution is that species which are better adapted to their environments thrive while those less well adapted don't.
A certain amount of extinction is inevitable but that masks the massive damage we are doing to the environment.
My concern isn't for the poor little animals who are going extinct but for our own species. When we destroy the environment, we are basically destroying our own house. We don't have anywhere else to go.
Luckily, I won't be around to face the consequences but the Earth which my grandkids and great-grandchildren have to live on will be significantly more hostile than the one we inhabit today.
Still, it's already too late to put that genie back in the bottle so there is no point in worrying about it.
