Do we make opponents too welcome at the “Lane”

When I did my tour of the new stadium a few years back , the “Guide” was explaining to us the design of the area as the players come out of the changing room , into the holding area before walking out onto the pitch , was meant to be intimidating to the opposition.

The reason he gave was that the home entrance to the area where the players line up , was wide , to allow the players to stroll out in groups , whereas the away entrance was narrow , so that they had to come out in single file .


I thought that to be a bit weird at the time .

Only now , since the arrival of RDZ , has the walkway been painted both sides as the players walk into the pitch .

Previously it was just plain white .

Are we missing a chance here to gain the slightest advantage, however small , by making this journey the tiniest bit uncomfortable for the opposition , and if so , what are your thoughts as to how a
we should / could do it

The bindippers, just as an example , used to have a single file passage onto the pitch with a big , in your face sign , saying “This is Anfield “

Something that makes our players feel good , and the away players just that smallest bit intimidated
 
As well as our new pre game anthem of Tina Turner’s SIMPLY THE BEST the slogan as they go out ‘WE ARE SIMPLY THE BEST’.

You have to be careful not to embarrass yourselves, hearing 'Tottenham are the greatest football team' blaring over the tannoy when you walk out for the second half 3-0 down at home isn't ideal!

It’s not going to happen! We will steam roller them all TQ, surely you have realised that!!! It’s no worse than going to Liverpool and seeing ‘This is Anfield’ and in unison chanting ‘the home of losers’. All slogans leave an opening for the negative! Park it to one side.

I hope you are right going forward but it has been the case over the past two awful seasons.

Take out the air con in the away dressing room - that should do nicely
