Do people love dogs more than humans?

One Bloody Number
Just had a thought after seeing loads of posts on Facebook about this horrible arson at the dogs home in Manchester.

Human nature for me is to take a disaster and try to think up a joke about it. It's just the way I am.

In the past on Facebook I have taken the piss out of religion, dead celebrities, friends, different countries, creeds, fat people, ginger people, even disabled people in a light hearted way..... the joke about the kid who claps his hands to win an ice cream is a classic....

Yet, this morning when my natural jokey instinct kicked in, I held back! No way will I post anything on Facebook about this dog thing for fear of being lynched, by weirdo's who treat their dog's like real people and would get more offended by a joke about dog's than if I slanged off their mothers.

So, serious question... are there really people who exist that care more about smelly mangey horrible slobbery animals than human beings?

Yes, people are fecking morons. Not5 all of course but it drives me nuts when people post on Facebook a picture of their cat/dog and refer to themselves at the creature's parent. I have had pets that I've been attached to (before allergies made it impractical) and when they have dies I have been sad but they are no more my family than an old pair of shoes that I'm particularly fond of.

The irony of all this is I'm the vegetarian for reasons of animal welfare where as the majority of these pet lovers and animal welfare preachers are quite happy to eat the dead flesh of other animals, as long as they don't "know them"

isn't that just because you are the only one who will feed them, water them, pick up their shit, and play with them?

I'm sure if you found a woman and did all that for her and then stopped her from mixing with other people she'd be pretty faithful too. lol

Not a dog lover. Wouldn't harm them though. Me I prefer cats. Mr K prefers dogs. We don't have any pets, cos 1 we enjoy our freedom and pets are a tie. Two we would both want the opposite animal so no point

I know just such a person. Posts pictures and videos of his dog on Facebook everyday. He's a member of a group of other like minded people and they all comment on them as if they have never seen the dog before. It looks the same from one day to the next.

Having said that I do like dogs and have a Westie (cute but a total waste of space!). Possibly the most boring dog on the planet but he's good with the wife.

I love my dog to bits - he's great. Like most dogs are to their owners.

And if im honest I prefer dogs over most fucking humans. If that makes me weird then I couldn't care less.

Well to be fair lee, it's not only that that makes you weird. lol

haha I was just thinking that!

dogs are great creatures to have around.

wether you like them or not, what happened last night is disgusting and some little teenage chav is going to get a slap on his wrist

I miss mar Duke who passed at Crimbo bless him but i luv'd him and cared for him more than the scum neighbour's i have and these chav hoodies that scare old folk in the street by banging there windows etc,my Duke was always good to people/kids but the thing is dogs become family so judging them against people is irrevlant tbh as they really end up being another person to you if you catch my drift, anyway there is some sick feckers in this world so give me a luvin dog anyday the week over these weordo's

I actually put a status on my facebook (before this had happened) that if the humans on this planet were replaced by dogs it would be a better place. And then some moron goes and burns a dogs home down.

I'm not saying its not disgusting Lee. It is. I think you're missing my point.

A lot of things are disgusting. Rape, peaodaphillia, racism, murder, death... yet most of us, me included find them all fair game to make jokes about on here and on Facebook etc... and probably wouldn't get slaughtered if they did.

Yet I think if anyone tried to make a joke about this they'd be murdered.

So it just got me thinking that's all... seems like people are more upset over dogs than anything else.

I think your not right on this one Deano dude, i am sure anybody that has seen the Rotherham child rapes etc and it's sick use against young girls groomed am sickened to the heart and gut by it more than a dog home or equally at the very least, it all depends on the individual tbh, but to think that there is some humans that ain't that bothered about these young girls in Rotherham yet only bothered by a dogs home burned down is off the ball imo tbh dude.
