I'm straight and I truly don't really care either way.

Most of my straight friends in the UK have never bothered getting married. They can't see the point.

I'd imagine that this 'campaign' is mostly being waged by loud-mouthed, straight women on behalf of gay men who don't really care that much one way or another.

 
If you never leave the UK a Civil partnership will give you the same rights as a marriage, Tony, but if you ever go abroad it doesn't.

I see it the other way around. Why not? Let those that want to get Married, and those that don't will remain unaffected.

Mind you, there are many more important issues that should being dealt with in Parliament, affecting more people. It's Fox Hunting all over again.
