Derby County v Aston Villa, Pride Park, Sat 16th Dec @ 3pm

Alert Team
So we head to in-form Derby (last 10: W7 D1 L2 F18 A8 Pts22) on Saturday for a crunch clash.

We really need to start beating the teams around us, and Saturday will be a huge test of where we are at the moment.

In all honesty, I can't see us taking all 3 points, but then, I don't think they will turn us over either. This has a draw written all over for me, but we've become a much tougher prospect on the road so we could nick what would be a very welcome win.

Not if we play like last weekend though.

1-1 or 1-2 Villa.

:94:

Let's be honest when has Rowett ever produced a team that plays with flair and attacking play? He's just a younger version of SB but unlike Bruce, you don't see his teams stroll around the pitch as Rowett wouldn't allow it our sign players like that.

As for the game - well on paper we have the better players but will they turn up?

Your guess is as good as mine? however, we should be going into every game knowing at least we are going to get an honest performance full of endeavour like the better teams do in this league but with the Villa at the moment that's not happing on a consistent basis and you won't get automatic promotion playing the way we do at the moment.

Tough game. Gut feeling is a loss and Gary Rowett further being proclaimed as the saviour of Aston Villa.

So difficult to predict anything with our lot, you just dont know which team is going to turn up.Gut feeling is they move the ball to quick for us and we will get caught out. 2-0 Derby.
Same as Pride I hope I am wrong.

Millwall exposed us because they defended deep and played on the counter. Derby won't be able to do that since they are at home. We'll stuff them 3-0 with Davis to score two.

It is a decent ground VillaTomB38.

I am looking forward to the trip as well , nice that it's only about an hours drive.

I've only been to Pride Park once, for a work thing nearly 20 years ago.

It's a nice stadium actually, and while I was there, I met Fabrizio Ravanelli. Nice bloke.

We are an injury to Chester away from a nightmare Christmas and new year after Millwall
cannot see us getting much here if we play the same way

No feelings at all with this one. If we play to our strengths and put in a committed, confident performance then I think we should win it. Derby are one of several teams who are doing OK but aren't that great. If we put in a timid performance fearful of what they might do to us we will lose it. Up to you, Bruce.

P.S. Please drop Onomah and play Grealish, start Hourihane instead of Lansbury, and think about shoving Elmo further forwards in place of Snoddy, with Hutton at RB.

What do you think Elmo would give the side that Snoddy doesn't?
