That's a good point Muttley, we're not equal very often, in our comments and judgements. Good defenders allow us to push forward, bad defenders make our game vulnerable. There's probably a problem though deciding how to judge which is the most important role between a top striker, midfielder and defender. They have most likely done the easy thing and just picked out those that score. Defenders do less tackling and foot play and pass more because it could go wrong and leave the goal vulnerable. But the point you make is good, we should be fair to all players.

Focusing on the exciting looking players is natural.
Similar to value isn't it? We know the worth of a goal-keeper and a defense to a team, but they are sold for peanuts compared to the 'glamour' positions.
Football is pretty much just show-business at the end of the day, and Sky anf fans don't pay money to see someone defend.
