Money is ever present and mentioning how much our players cost is a sign of our wealth - you may not like it and I may not like it but City and spending money are pretty synonymous. Real have always spent it but then theirs is 'old' money - we are the nouvea riche kids on the block and it excites both commentators and newspaper editors to talk telephone numbers.
That is why I like referring to Sterling as £49m - but not Sagna as 'Freebie' - £49 million is an exciting number/amount and reminds me that we can pretty much go out and buy success if and when we need to.
