Totally and utterly gobsmacked! I was only playing his new album yesterday, which was released on the 5th Jan. to celebrate his 69th birthday......

January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle... http://fb.me/3Nmmc2QmB

I always knew this day would come, David Bowie has been in my life since I was a snot nosed kid. The world of David Bowie was my first album, not a hugely popular album but it was my first.

I was given "The Man Who Sold the World" and that was it, hooked for life.................

not going to be my last word on it but gutted.

Playing Blackstar right now in respect for a true artist. It's so, so sad..... I'm totally gobsmacked. It's as though he wanted this album out before he died. He may of knew he hadn't got long as he'd been fighting cancer for 18 months.

Very sad day cor believe this tbh,,,,,,fantastic singer love his stuff always have just still can not believe this news

. Can't post it as the file is too big...... But it's on here if you have twitter....

Rest In Peace David Bowie, thank you for all you've given to music and art. You'll be sorely missed. #DavidBowie

He really was a hero to me and I am truly gob-smacked.

I only played his greatest hits album yesterday and all the songs took me back to different stages and times of my life.

It takes a lot for me to cry but I unashamedly admit to having a tear in my eye as I write this.

Rest In Peace David and thanks for the memories.

I will have to wait till I get home....

Lifes a funny old thing....

I just heard a funny thing, a guy came in and said "have you heard about Bowie"?

I said yes "Im gutted"

He replied "Lemmy last week, Bowie this week, lets hope next week its someone crap like Ringo Starr"

Although Ringo did nothing to deserve the comment it did make me smile a bit.

Staggered

I had just been reading of his new album

Had lost track a bit and did not realise that he had cancer

Not many are worthy of the tag "legend" but he is

RIP

Absolutely gutted. Bowie was the soundtrack to my youth. Driving into Manchester this morning and heard on the radio. Sitting in a traffic jam with tears rolling down my face!

Just takes me back to friends, party's, girls. All the good stuff that happened had Bowie playing in the background. What a legacy to leave behind. Will be a Bowie fest when I get home today.

For me, here is one of the many marvellous memories from David looking and sounding good......

I had no idea that he was ill, I'm quite shocked about this. RIP to a true musical great, his back catalogue must be amongst the very best. I was really looking forward to giving his new album a listen, now it will be with a sadness I'd not expected.

Off the new album Blackstar, the track called 'Lazarus' has this;

Opening line “Look up here, I’m in heaven”

Now that’s going out in style

Gutted.

Loved Bowie...

Typical of the man that he kept it all private and also that he made sure his album release still happened on Friday.

The world is missing one very special person today.
