Dan ndoye

Neymar had something like a 3 in 10 record of beating defenders one on one

And was considered a superstar winger

People remember the highlights that worked not all the failures and losses of the ball.

With wingers people expect way more than is possible to deliver as a result

Look at how much CHO struggles compared to his low success rate beating men and creating impact

Yet the other day Hutchinson had 30 mins where he was in the zone and beat his man pretty much all the time

Dont expect that every week

But at the same time dont over expect from Ndoye

Most games he gives us more than CHO at least

And CHO is highly rated

Its hard being a winger

Albeit Hutchinson just made it look easy the other day

He was definitely in the zone though

He could become an absolute superstar IMO
If he scores 3 goals for every 10 of neymars, I don’t care if he never beats a man again….

You need to be athletic in this league. I have yet to see a fullback this guy could beat for speed.

Dan Ndoye

Dan Ndoye has a top speed of 35.6 km/h (22.1 mph), which was recorded during Euro 2024,

Euro 2024 ranking: He was the third-fastest player in the tournament based on this speed.

(Hes almost certainly the most athletic player in our squad by some distance Jock?)

Must have had a strong tail wind. I’ve not clocked him doing more than about 28km/h at the WFCG…

I like his workrate and his defensive discipline. Agree with the above re setup.

He had no defensive discipline on Sunday. Savona and Milenkovic are being blamed for the first goal, savona for not picking up and Milenkovic for not giving direction, but Ndoye was way off. Same as Dominguez in the otherside.

Im not into slagging off individual players, its unkind and unproductive. But his shit in relation to his price tag. Hutchinson has showed more attacking promise in his cameos, but does he have the defensive positioning that Dyche requires with this style of play? Probably the reason Nuno didn't want him, and wanted Traore instead

He never looked like troubling their fullback on Sunday. He was right infront of me

Savona on the other hand...they were targeting him .

My issue with NDoye is I’m not convinced he’s going to be any better than he’s produced so far AND throughout his career, which is what I argued about in the summer.

He scored 8 goals last season in serie A for Bologna and got 4 assists (a considerably slower league), 0 goals or assists in 8 UCL games, which isn’t bad… but it’s not great either for £35m. Their fans were hardly gutted he left, which i thought was interesting given the team he played for.

Before that, he’s never got more than 4 goals in a season and that was in the Swiss league. I just don’t get why everyone thinks a 25 year old with a very modest career to date, who isn’t exactly performing particularly differently to last year, is waiting to burst into life. I hope I’m wrong but I think this is him… not terrible, but to me a back up £10m winger at best.

Yes, there are examples of Forest getting more out of players like Elanga and CHO, but Elanga was very young, rapid and had raw ability and CHO was once a young superstar who came as a calculated risk at £3m. Ndoye i don’t think has the attributes to be miles better than he currently is. He’s not particularly quick… or certainly never seems to beat his full back, his crossing is very poor I feel and while his finishing isn’t ‘bad’, he never looks to me like somebody who might produce some magic.

It’s not that I hate him, and I don’t even mind him being in the squad, but I don’t why we need to pretend he’s not been highly disappointing

The reason for Nuno wanting Traore is well known. Nuno likes his well-oiled bottom, and why wouldn't he?

Pace isn't everything but it helps doesn't it. IMO Ndoye is quick enough but not Elanga quick. What he is lacking at moment is a bit of a lack of confidence & doesn't want to be seen to be losing the ball, so he plays it safe by passing instead of perhaps trying to beat his man. Still reckon it might be worth giving him a run on the left hand side, because in truth at the moment we have a similar situation with CHO, who is reticent to go on the outside & cross with his left because it is his weaker foot.

At the moment we lack a naturally left footed player down the left side of the team as Williams is also right footed which makes us a bit unbalanced, playing Ndoye on that side might help.

Ndoye and Bakwa are both either predominantly or totally left footed.

Ndoye has been consistently picked by 3 different managers. The fact that they play differently and he has still managed to adapt is to his credit.

Dyche will be asking him to defend first which is what we saw on Sunday and to me the criticism was bonkers as he worked hard, tracked back and carried the ball forward. There were far worse performances in that first half and my take was his substitution had nothing to do with his performance and everything to do with getting more out and out forwards on.

Unfortunately there are people with ‘skin in the game’. They have had to eat humble pie as Ndoye has adapted and improved but at the first sign they are now ‘aha! Told you I was right all along’.

One goal and one assist in the league means that nobody’s had to eat humble pie at all. He’s been no better than I expected or suggested he’d be.

I’m still waiting for you to tell me what he does well in an attacking sense?
