DAMBUSTERS THEME

Why don't we play the Dambusters March as the teams come onto the pitch not five minutes before. Most teams have an anthem they come out too and the Dambusters is very appropriate for City and would be even more stirring if it was played on the entry of the 'gladiator's'.

They used to play "the Lincolnshire poacher."

Now we get that annoying modern song with the guitar loops and trumpet samples. da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da...........d,d,d,d,d...........after being treated to it a few times already in the build up and we then get treated to it at half time too.

Used to be better when they put "best of Indie" on and we got "Charlatans - The only one I know" and "Stone Roses - I wanna be adored."

Indie for me but agree the Dambusters march as we come out. Would be very fitting together with the sound of the Lancaster when Johnny Johnson attends at the game v Bromley.

I hope Johny Johnsonson is escorted around the pitch at half time as I for one would like to stand up and applaud the chap for what he did. I would hope the whole ground would as well, in the year the long over due, bomber command memorial is opened.

You can never have enough of the 'Roses blaring from any available speaker.

i've been working on a new stadium design, in preparation for when we move. It's based on a Lancaster Bomber. I was sketching it on the back of an envelope the other day. There's a H-tail stand behind one goal. Down the other end the outer side will have a curved glass frontage. Looking like a cockpit. This would incorporate a restaurant and bar with views on a couple of levels of the Cathedral. Down the sides 2 x 2 tiered stands. Known as the wings. Capacity around 15,000. There's a clock on the top of both wings. On the top of one of the wings i've designed a Red Lincoln Imp that flashes when we score a goal. I'm happy to try and draw it up properly and send it in to the club, what do you think?

Yeh Dambuster Stadium. Mind you they might think some little kid's drawn it. by Croozey aged 7.

Strange. I was thinking about the "new stadium" the other day and coming up with variations of Southampton's expansion and redesign. This one is unlikely to happen anytime in the near future but this was one of the designs that was published. You could easily alter the red "canopy" along the side to be a Lancaster with it's trail behind it:

The more I think of this, the more I believe that if we do have to move to a new stadium, it has to be called 'The Dambusters Stadium'.

Crayon or felt tip??

Perhaps we should have our own competition. Open up a new thread and then we all go off and draw a stadium design. Is it possible to paste an image into a post?
