D*rby to be relegated?

Despite the hilarious predicament of the sheep lets remember that if things had gone poorly in just a couple of games it could well have been us that got relagated. As bad as Direby with goals, 16 new transfers, of which im not sure a single one made the grade, awful recruitment from day one wasting literally tens of millions and awful football for a season and half and many people would have thought we deserved it

Does anyone think that Derby will be hit with a points deduction at the start of this season? If so, there is only 3 weeks until kick off, so they better hurry up ..!!

It won't be a problem as they can be deducted points during the season

There is no definitive timescale for this process to run its course.

Three years of accounts have to be resubmitted by early August; the EFL then have to either ratify the accounts or submit a complaint to the independent adjudication body.

The IAB will then decide if there is a case to answer and make judgement; if they find Derby guilty a points deduction will be levied.

I would guess it will be October at the earliest before judgement is passed; it could run into next year.

They also have another two sets of accounts which are outstanding which are one of the action points which resulted in the embargo

Whatever the ultimate outcome this is going to be a long, drawn out season from hell for Derby and anyone connected with them. And all because their owner saw himself as untouchable.

Obviously my main concern is Forest but I will certainly take a degree of pleasure in their misfortune, particularly if it ends up with them in league one for a spell…

How long do you think the sheep can long it out? You would have thought they want it dealt with so at least they can move on. Cant help but feel the longer it drags on, the more it will hurt the sheep. If you were a player (not a quality one obviously) why would u go somewhere with a big dark cloud over it?

Derby to ask EFL to relax the rules re transfer embargo. Don’t remember Forest being allowed to get around rules and we only staved off relegation in last game by skin of teeth. Have some sympathy as they have to count U23 players that played in cup that was covid compromised but…….. if caught cheating then no sympathy.

I hope the EFL show no mercy with regards to the Covid thing, not just cos it's Derby but because of everything else they've done. They would probably have been shown some leniency if it wasn't for MM being a **** and trying to get one over them all the time.

EFL allow Derby to sign out of contract players. Not sure about loans. Can bring squad up to 23 but not have to count covid cup players of last season.

Derby can bring in 5 players. They have on trial at present Jags, Curtis and Morrison. Who will be other two? The Derby forum seem to think that the embargo will end as soon as new accounts are presented. They appear to feel that this will be presented before transfer window closes. Thus the embargo is a short term problem. They also seem to think they have done nothing wrong and the EFL is just vindictive.

The embargo will not end as soon as the accounts are presented.

That will satisfy most of the issues which have resulted in the embargo, but it will still leave one big issue to be resolved; the 20m they owe to HMRC.

That in itself will be sufficient for the embargo to remain in place.
