I moved Nov '73.

I still have one family member (in Chalfont Drive ) so do occasionally go down there. Think the shop is still going.
 
Kicking the shilling habit was hard to start with. So that's one shilling and two and half new pennies. People would say, forget the shillings. I used to worry about where stuff on the computer screen went when you scrolled too.
 
I think the word decimalisation originates from the Roman army practice of executing one in ten from the ranks as a punishment for poor discipline or performance.
