#COVID19

The tory scum should never ever be forgiven for the absolute fraud & parties the saddest thing is because of how disgraceful they were when this shit happens again thousands of people will die needlessly again because they are lying thieving scum *****

Boris is a haunted looking **** & when the money is right or he’s going through his latest divorce he’ll apologise publicly but it’ll be the same scum bullshit

Never forget & never forgive
But tens of thousands of " boomers' were got rid of so not all bad?

What was unforgivable was not being prepared for any form of pandemic.

The inquiry is turning up more and more examples of incompetence, ill-preparedness and profiteering by the day.

Profiteering?

Blame those black fellows in their dinghies

I have had it 3 times and every single time the one thing that was by far the worst was how fatigued it made me. I am a night owl and can generally get by on around 7 hours. I was sleeping 11 hours a night and still feeling completely pole axed every time I did even so much as 30 minutes of light activity, then needing to sleep for a few hours just to feel capable of doing anything. I wasn't right for about 2 months after the first time. Luckily with the other two it was just a matter of weeks.

Headaches, fever and losing my sense of taste/smell happened each time with decreasing levels of intensity. Only had a very mild cough though.
First time I got it I was sleeping anywhere up to 20 hours a day for nearly 2 months. It’s now 3 years later and I am still in the realms of 10-12 hours at times. I used to be pretty active but now a 10 minute walk leaves me aching and exhausted.

I have had Covid another 3 times and each time it knocked me off my feet for a few days but faded quickly. Haven’t had this variant yet so can’t wait for that one…

The report is only predictable because it said the government did a negligent job which, to be fair to him, was indeed entirely predictable.

We knew what the enquiry would find, because we saw nearly all of it at the time. We saw a lot of the errors before covid even reached our shores.

We know the errors , but I'm still unclear what they could have done. Half the people on here criticize them for being slow locking down , the other half for having unnecessary lockdowns. Starmer wanted to continue the lockdowns. Maybe everybody under 50 could have carried on working, but the minute the first under 50 worker died there would have been all hell let loose. PPE has a limited life too. I'm sure most of Europe did the same thing. The strange thing is South Korea. Did they do everything right or did their people have more immunity?

What was strange about South Korea?

I know over there everyone wears a mask for a year if a single teenager catches a cold, so maybe its their innate sense of panic that helped them?

As for the tories, they could have not made the errors, and they certainly could have been alot more decisive and organized.
For me, the general government business of dealing with covid was a nightmare, and they probably 'tried their best', or at least some of them did, and as a whole, it could have been worse.

At the same time, their insistence on using the crisis to give our money to their friends was obviously a shitty thing to do.

Its very much a pot (bad) luck illness. Pre jabs my daughters other half had it and he was flat in bed for three weeks. The doctors advice was Good luck ! When my daughter returned to work she apparently had had it too, but didn't even know, despite the fact she is deemed to be vulnerable. We've only had it since jabs, and nothing more than a cold, but pre-jab it could have been a lot worse.

Yeah its very much about luck i think.

The state of my health is absolutely dreadful cos of my kidneys but I've had covid 4 times now and the worst I got was flu symptoms and a bad headache.

But what were "the errors". Everyone seems to have a different opinion. Even now people are arguing about whether masks were a waste of time etc
I would guess 90% of the population could have carried on with life as normal, the problem being no one knew if they would be one of the unfortunate 10%.

Mrs Strett has this strain, the first time she's has Covid. Symptoms are similar to that of flu: lethargy and aches.

I have decided to use my time wisely and watch a war film tonight.
Any recommendations?

My faves are...

Ice Cold in Alex
Zulu
Waterloo
Dunkirk
(the original, the new one is poop)
Apocalypse Now
Tora! Tora! Tora!

One big error was delaying the lockdown around xmas 2021. This was just pure indecisiveness that genuinely either put lives at risk or (as some people would have it) led to another needless lockdown.

Eat out to help out was a massive error and everyone knew it at the time too.

Also Hancock's whole career could be called an error.

All solid boomer fest viewing material there. My personal favourite? The Cruel Sea.

You can’t watch it in an evening but Band of Brothers is right up there with most films.

A bridge too far is quality

It’s stupid & not at all historically accurate but Kelly’s Hero’s is pretty good
