Covid 19

I've been looking at the Norfolk stats re Covid19 cases per 100,000 of the population for a few weeks now.

Norwich - rose to 115 per 100,000 and has then gone down towards 106
Hopefully this will contnue downwards and the increase to 115 may have been a result of the testing of students and staff at UEA

South Norfolk - positive cases per 100,000 - falling

North Norfolk - positive cases per 100,000 - falling

Breckland - has spiked, I suspect due to the 175 (so far) positive cases connected to the Cranshaw food plant at Watton. Lets hope they have moved fast enough to contain the effect of this outbreak.
The rest of Breckland may have a modest number of positive cases.

Great Yarmouth - perplexed as to why their number is higher than most of Norfolk.

Has the Government got the new lockdown wrong for Norfolk?

Wattons figures worst in the Country!!

For the week Oct 21 - 27 Watton had 125 cases and because of its population size it comes out as 1515.5 per 100,000. The original source is Public Health England and can be seen via this link:

1515.5 per 100k is the biggest figure Ive seen!! The Watton food plant now has 250 positive cases but I dont know what the breakdown is per time frame (week).

I thought Great Yarmouth was relatively high in terms of the 100k rate but it was around 100 to 200 per 100k but in absolute numbers of cases its not many but the small population makes it look big per 100k.

Heres some other figures for Oct 21 - 27:
UEA 33 cases 265.8 per 100k
Eaton 19 cases 212.2 per 100k
Earlham 20 cases 168.9 per 100k
Earlham Rd &
College Rd 14 cases 149.0 per 100k

Bowthorpe &
West Earlham 16 cases 132.7 per 100k

City Centre East 8 cases 117.7 per 100k

Thorpe St Andrew
North 6 cases 82.4 per 100k

Thorpe St Andrew
South & Dussindale 4 cases 55.2

Town Close 6 cases 54.0

Costessey &
Queens Hills 9 cases 54.0

City Centre West 5 cases 45.1

Long Stratton, Carlton Rode
& Tibenham 5 cases 43.2

Hockering, Mattishall
& Cranworth 3 cases 42.8

Cringleford, Little Melton
