Coventry v Swansea, Boxing Day Fri 26 Dec 15:00

Two away matches coming up, first one at Coventry next Friday and then Mon 29 Dec 19:45 at Oxford.

A tough task ahead, no best time to play Coventry as they’ve been solid at the top of the table all season, so let’s get it over with now.

Coventry are unbeaten at home and have lost just two away games at Ipswich and Wrexham.

Ironically they have four ex-Swans there, Rushworth, Grimes, Latibeaudiere and Bidwell.

All four players took part in their last game, a 1-1 draw at Southampton. This after having played most of the second-half with ten men.

There were also three ex-Swans playing for the Saints, Wood, Manning and Downes, Wood scoring the equaliser when Coventry were down in number second-half.

Swans have just two away wins from ten, Coventry winning eight and drawing two of their ten home games, so on paper the task looks daunting.

But the game is not played on paper and football is very unpredictable and there are always some surprise results over the Christmas period.

Let’s hope Matos gets them fired up for this one.
 
Coventry defenders Bobby Thomas and Liam Kitching and midfielder Tatsuhiro Sakamoto all missed last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southampton, with the flu bug still going around the Sky Blues camp.

Frustratingly we spurned our chances, we are so weak in front of goal.
Vipotnik and Cullen should have scored.

Down to 20th, four points off a relegation spot
 
Oxford and Norwich win, Portsmouth draw of the teams below us.
Oxford match next Monday looking more and more important now.
 
Idah out injured, Wales came on but hardly touched the ball. Wales unmarked at the far post, Inoussa on the right blasts it over the bar on 81’ instead of crossing.

It baffles me this after seeing them against us recently. They didn't look capable of barely getting a shot let alone score 5 goals. Credit to us I suppose for keeping them quiet. Similar today vs Coventry, they didn't have a great amount of chances. We were disappointing in front of goal, Cullen should have got us a point.
