It was our first defeat in eight league games last Saturday, spurning several good scoring chances and conceded two soft goals. This follows the same pattern as last season where we dropped so many points at home and it’s a weakness we have to overcome if we are to be successful this season.

Fortunately we have a quick turnaround of matches with another game on Tuesday night and the chance to get back on track.
I expect to see some our new signings introduced, especially the highly experienced 6’2” centre-back Ryan Bennett, who’s sure to replace Naughton. He’s played a stack of PL games with Norwich and Wolves and gained promotion from the Championship with both. He was on loan at Leicester in the PL last season.
With Rodon gone our previously solid defence looked very vulnerable, and the injured Gibbs-White was also a big miss.
Newly promoted Coventry City lost 2-0 at Brentford on Saturday and have won only one of their five games so far this season.
They ground share with Birmingham City at St Andrews, 22 miles away from Coventry down the M6. There had been a long running dispute which started over high rental charges by the owners of the Ricoh Arena and escalated with the sale of the Arena to Wasps for around £20 million in 2014. Consequently there are plans in the pipeline to build their own stadium.
