Fair enough because it was in the signed terms? Or out of order? What do you guys think? They signed an agreement so legally I don't think they can do anything about it. More bad press for a bad looking ''hovel'' though that's for sure.

Surely this is a breach of basic human rights if it's a shithole and you have paid your money and found it to be a shithole then you have a right to call it a shithole.

Wow!

Freedom of speech?

For me, this has to be enforced surely?

"Officials believe the hotel may have breached unfair trading practice regulations"

Well it's an horrendous advert for the hotel, surely, legally that term and condition is blackmail and therefore illegal. Shameful, they have no right to silence people, hopefully it will encourage a bombardment of fake negative reviews on there hotel, by people they can't 'fine'.

Potentially bribary I'd argue, and UTCCR all the way to be unenforceable unless on one of the clauses this hotel wants to balance the so called contract and reward people who post a positive review with a 100 bonus, let alone CPUTR.

Freeman, such a clause should be highlighted especially as it's extraneous to the initial bargain and service you are signing up for. It's the same as you can't hide in small print a unknown fine for 1000 for shitting in the bathroom.

It's the old (council) parking charge element, if the signs are prominantly displayed, you are clearly aware of a breach etc - but if the sign is 100 yards away, muddy etc.

F*** ME, they must be raking it in with fines, they have 100's of bad reviews, pmsl -

I suppose they need to make some money before they go bankrupt. Seriously that is completely unethical

Well I know who I'm inboxing next time I have a brush with the law.

LOL Facehead, I particularly liked ''staff drinking cans of strongbow while serving breakfast'' :19:

PMSL - I like my legal cap but I must say I am NOT trained or qualified in anything but media law (NCTJ).

But I do have a healthy dislike for qualifications! and one day I might not be so lazy on that score.

I missed the strongbow review though, does make me laugh though, companies who think this is a good idea in this day and age (let alone unlawful) of social media and the like, are you willingly shooting yourself in the foot?

Methinks some should realise not all publicity is good because anybody who didn't post a review but didn't like that place now can (and probably will for revenge and a laugh), and if they even attempt to draw on their card that would now be theft really and even being fair, if they tried that on somebodies card who was a customer over 6 months ago, it could also be argued it was a DPA breach because they are still storing information unneccessary for their own accounting procedures upon completion of the bargain which leaves them open to further compensation claims - outwith the potential theft.

Why can I no longer find companies like this - I'm sure I'm on a blacklist?

I'll console myself with Southern Electric, they still think I'm a customer who owes them money despite it taking them four odd months to work out what my name was.

ps - happy to help legally - BUT NEVER rely on what I say 100% before checking it out with somebody with a certificate.

So if I say it's a shit hole on here can I expect a bill in he post???

......................... best hotel I've ever stayed in!

Listening to the 1pm news on Radio 2 and apparently the couple have been refunded by the 'hotel' now because of the publicity. There was even a slot on the Jeremy Vine Show about it. He said the show had been phoning the hotel to get their side of the story, but the phone number was consistently engaged...... I wonder why?.... Lol

Lol face saving tactics, unfortunately for them the damage is done, now they have massive bad publicity and don't even have the hundred quid anymore, excellent
