Anyone know if it's true?

No idea on that one but would it be more the plastic sheets used. Was it Grimsby or Notts where an awful lot ended up in the trees behind the CO-OP? Is there a non plastic alternative out there?

It's fine if it stays in Sincil Bank, but a bit a wind and it's a problem for Sincil Drain, and the surrounding area. What has what goes on inside SB regards a display got to do with the council. Maybe we could charge 5p for each piece and donate the money to charity. Then lets see if those nasty people at the council ban the displays.![]()

The mosaics are good, but there is shed loads of plastic sloshing around the world. There must be a paper/ card substitute to use!?. Try thinking of the environment, if somebody dumped 5 odd thousand sheets of plastic in your back yard you'd be a bit hacked off!
It's a good point but the answer is quite simple, put the sheet in your pocket after the display, take it home and put it in the recycling bin like I do. It's only the numpty's who let them go that cause the issue!
Nope, it's not in the media or anything. Just saw a comment.Got a link Luke?
