Coronavirus

The usual mish-mash of half-arsed measures. Masks mandatory in shops and on public transport but not in hospitality venues?

Nope as that might impact on profits of their donors.

Oh and Javid "we're doing everything we can to stop omicron"...including letting all passengers arriving to mix in airports freely, travel on crowded public transport freely (and unmasked still) and go home & to work and do whatever they like...oh but they'll try and contact them once they've mixed with as many other people as they possibly can and then perhaps isolate..."...too fking late again Javid!!!
Meanwhile in Holland, all incomers tested and held in quarantine until safely cleared to proceed.

Just upgraded the restrictions to be inline with Wales and Scotland, both countries never lifted the mask rules . Mind you I still wear my anyway , so no difference for me .
As for the travel restrictions I hope they can be lifted as soon as possible , mind you I am biased .

The first omicron case dates back 9 days!
Since when an estimated 22,000 passengers have flown in unchecked from South Africa.

Time to worry all over again.

Interesting point. Why do you think we have no control over it?

I didnt say "we" i meant as an individual i have no control over what happens with this new variant or any variant .I certainly don't worry about something that may or may not happen ie catch covid .

Life is for living , not for worrying .

Interestingly enough the third person who has tested positive has left the UK after a couple of days .

Why do you have no control? Shouldn't you be able to influence policy and have your views heard and appreciated?

Won't link it or copy it because of paywall, but strong article in Subday Times by Dr. Rachel Clarke, a specialist in palliative care. Starts by describing a mid 30s cancer patient "on an antibiotic so potent it is nicknamed Domestos; a painkiller ten times stronger than opium; and chemotherapy literally designed to kill living cells. Yet she will not have a Covid vaccine".

The ITU ward above is full of dying unvaccinated covid cases. She refuses to condemn, as many of her colleagues do, the unvaccinated, but saves her wrath "for the charlatans who use their (social media) platforms to show mistruths. These people are liars and cynics with blood on their hands."

Anyone reading this thread and continuing to resist having covid vaccines, think very, very carefully about that decision and the sources of information you are basing that decision on. Your life may be the price you pay and the purveyors of this anti vaxx nonsense, for their own perverse reasons, would be quite happy to see you dead.

I think the tragedy is that something like this is carelessly passed off as lies by the ‘main stream media’. We’ve seen it elsewhere on this thread, with the bizarre suggestion that rather than the lies of the MSM we should take as gospel the views of an anonymous Millwall fan.

Strange times we live in.

that is quite a concerning statement, you can directly control your actions and influence those around you. I rather feel this attitude is the one that got us into this mess. if we all followed the recommendations as individuals we collectively would have less to worry about.
