Coronavirus

Again the only positive is deaths don't seem to be following at the same rate, but France are close to ICU capacity, so I'm expecting that to change as well over the next fortnight or so.

Never fear though, as I contemplate my above worry, I'll avoid the family and meet with multiple strangers in a Covid Alert way down the local pub. In fact I'll start at the pub 20 minutes walk away as just in case they are sensible and turn me away, I'll have 3 other pubs to try.

Cases in Ireland are rising and especially so in Dublin. So it looks like they'll be turning the screws on us. A big announcement is expected tomorrow. It looks like we'll be confined to the county, fewer visitors permitted at home, pubs that only serve booze will not be re-opening whilst there will be restrictions in restaurants. We were also slowly reopening church (25 attendees) but it's probable even that will be knocked on the head.

Not a good day for that paragon of business success Dido Harding , who apparently didn't expect an increase demand for Covid 19 tests , once schools and business re-opened.

The head of Test and Trace has said she doesn't believe "anybody was expecting to see the really sizeable increase in demand" for coronavirus tests.

I am sure if you read back through this thread most were saying there would be a spike in cases , and for her to claim otherwise is quite staggering.

I was watching, apparently it's all Sage's fault.

It would've been something undoubtedly. Head honcho gets paid to carry the can, but amazingly it's never their fault.

Meanwhile the odious Rees-Mogg reckons us serfs should stop "carping"

Jacob Rees-Mogg sparked anger today after telling people to stop their 'endless carping' about a lack of coronavirus tests.

The Commons Leader dismissed the growing pressure on the Government over its testing shambles as he claimed the system had been a 'phenomenal success' which should be celebrated.

I think he should stop breathing but I don't go on about it.
