Very encouraging. But in the world of statistics things are often not what they seem - for instance, does this number include "second jabs" ? If it does, the distinction between people vaccinated and vaccinations given may have been conveniently overlooked to fit the narrative..

Still encouraging though, well done.

fishing lol -have not read a newspaper that I have paid for since at least 1978 and even at the height of the anti nazi league and miners strike I knew few who bought and then actually read the guardian as it was too hard going and liberal but looked good rolled up under your arm. Is it not now even more illiberal liberal anti socialist than ever or has it improved.

I did obviously read the free papers on the train every day to pass the time when not reading a book. Also will read any newspapers football pages if someone leaves their paper on the train.

have had too much false information in papers over the years. when grain power station was started I was shop steward for the site for a short period and was constantly reading that we were on strike etc when nothing was happening. Countless anti fascist marches were grossly misreported and dont start on the miners strike. All newspapers were in on the act (including the morning star lol).
So where do I find the truth Jerry?

Btw, the Guardian and BBC claimed that the Gills got a creditable 2 2 draw at Sunderland on Saturday. We all know they have "agendas" so is it true? I'm worried that we might have lost.

you watched it so you know its true and apart from the date the football scores are where they are all successful. The other pages people tend to like or dislike or believe or disbelieve dependent on the gang they belong to.

The old left (left of post 70s labour) and anarchists do seem to be devoid of a newpaper.

^ this is quite clear that it is talking about people who have had their first vaccines. If it included a second jab then it would maybe suggest "at least one dose".

Yes, you`d like to think so. I haven`t read the article, just making a comment about stats - as it`s not always what they say, it`s what they don`t say. If we`ve jabbed all those folk then good job.

But people watched film of van loads of false votes for Biden being delivered. Can I even believe what I see on film?

Where is the truth?

Try a small dose of magic mushrooms first, '58. See how you get on with them...

They don't reveal the truth. Tried them once and watched an American sitcom which I found uproariously funny. Watched it the next week withouth the benefit of the mushrooms and it was absolute shit.

Actually, I see what you mean Bud, in a way it did work; not so sure about the "truth" bit though.

What?! You watched a bloody American sitcom??!!

Listen, that wont work - well, it will in a way, as you found out! - what you need to do is turn the tv off and venture outside, preferably somewhere with lots of nature.

They might not reveal the truth but you will gain some understanding.

58, you got the mushroom type wrong, you obviously ate the shiitake version .

Wot - you dont believe the film of bigfoot sightings!

more worrying is that some of the things we learnt at school have been proved to be incorrect. Like the mountains were created by volcanic action - then we discover plate technology lol. I could have easily changed my mind on anything at any time.

I took a look at the moon and the stars, something wonderful and certainly true. Imagine if psylocybin provided protection from Covid as a side effect. I mean really, just imagine. Would most people take it willingly, would the world change. It's a rumour that started on this message board, right here, now. In other news (factual) my Mrs has just booked her first jab this Friday.

Many years ago I was tripping with a couple of mates and we were looking up at the moon. It started slowly disappearing. Then I noticed some people in the distance on a bridge. They were all stood staring and pointing at the moon.
"Look", I said, "they're looking at the moon as well."
"Wow man, they must be tripping too!", replied one of my mates.

It only occurred to me later that what we'd seen was a lunar eclipse, and that those on the bridge were almost certainly not tripping.

I've just read an article about the relative tightness and losseness of societies and the effect that has had on the fight against Covid. It doesn't support or oppose any particular angle (Nobby might feel a little vindicated ;)) I thought it interesting. Might influence our thinking in the future?

Interesting article although I won't claim to be vindicated as such as my opinions are purely formed from seeing this "loose" behaviour for myself, not through any clever research.
The fact that I spend (nearly) every day in our capital city, just as others on this board do, dictates that I am likely to see more of this type of behaviour as it appears to be more rife outside of rural areas. Living in a town that traditionally attracts many day trippers means I get it at home too. (Plus, as discussed before, I'm a miserable old git who loves something to moan about 😉)
