Corner Flag Kicking

Anyway, Port Vale's statuesque defending has skewed the numbers.

We now have 7 goals from 87 corners and have conceded 1 from 54.

In "Expected Goals" from corners we should be 2.9 and 1.8 respectively. I just wish I could do a fancy graphic so it looks all sort of official and not like a load of made up b/s

Interestingly (or not) this is exactly the same method used to prove climate change. Build a model and extrapolate from that, climate change has a lot more experts working on those models of course but also climate is ridiculously harder to model compared to the outcome of a football match...

I believe that's the case. Only a fraction of the back of the ball has to overlap with the far edge. So it often looks out, but isn't.

Should tell Linos and crowds that rule though especially for throw ins. Some linos flag when the ball is not even half over the line and all crowds jump up claiming it was out when it touches the line.
