A thread dedicated to all things Corbyn and the hilarious car crash that the Labour party has become.

Let's start with this mornings news, Corby had irritated and amazed his shadow cabinet by going above their heads and emailing the grass routes to try and get support for his non-intervention stance. This has astonished and amazed the shadow cabinet. Revolt is in the air.

Add to that this gem from Mr Mc Donnell quoting a man who exterminated 60 million of his own people. You can see Mr Watson cringe as he see what is happening.

I know, like or loathe him he has made policy interesting again. Admittedly because he practices student politics and is very amateurish, but beggars cannot be choosers.

Quoting a tyrant like Mao, oh dear oh dear.

And Corbyn going behind the backs of the cabinent... not exactly the socialist way that is it Jeremy? I want us all to share in decisions as long as they are MY decisions.

He has been his own worst enemy.

The awful thing is when you have a Tory government you really do need a strong opposition, we hardly have an oppo at all.

This is why I think the Liberals (sorry Wurzel, his is a slight aside to your thread so I hope you'll forgive me... funnily enough I meant to bring back up the politics thread yesterday re Corbyn) were judged too harshly for forming the coalition, I think they smoothed out the rough edges from the Tories.

It is like watching a comedy film play out seeing Labour thesedays ffs, i can get what he is meaning about not bombing Daesh cos i watched somebloke on SKY this morning saying bombing will not stop them attacking us as they don't have buildings and headquarters like our armies do instead they am in tents hiding away the ones making decisions and we also have a bigger worry in house extreemism to focus on,,,,,,,so in a way this makes sens to me but we demand bombs and many of them here in the west in retaliation so i suppose it makes us feel a bit better,,,,,i have to admit seeing ISIL bombed the feck out of weather it is working or not makes me feel kinda happier

No way thats just plain selfish :5:

You forgot to call me comrade Clive therefore you go into the little red book... :22:

So on the news just they reckon Cameron says there is about 70,000 rebels and fighters of different groups all in Syria, the plan is to unite all the rebels against ISIS lol absolute no feckin chance, how we can even entertain the idea that somehow we will magically unite militia groups from all over Syria to help us is beyind fanciful imo ffs

I said it before this is all elading us into a ground troops force being put over there i just can not see any other way we can exterminate this ISIS group that has them spread out all over countirs in the East, this is just my prediction this will happen btw i reckon we will get bogged down in a giant Afghan type war in the near future.

The trouble is, the vast majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party have grown up and been indoctrinated under Blair, and are really nothing more than Tory-lite.

Corbyn and McDonnell are much truer to what the Labour party stands for, and there's the rub. I actually really like and admire Corbyn for being a man of principle, and he is nothing if not consistent in his approach. Compared with the slimy, devious Cameron and Osborne (to name but two of about 650 odd), Corbyn is a breath of fresh air, and frankly his politics are far more up my street that what Labour has become over the past 20 years.

Unfortunately, thanks to the relentless media character assassination from the vastly right-wing press, and the fact that as I've mentioned, most of his party are Tories in all but name, he's being discredited and ridiculed at every turn, and I'm sure it won't be long before he's forced out.

Which is a huge shame, and it won't be long before parliament returns to the pathetic, inane playground of insults and abuse rather than as a forum for serious debate and policy making. Britain, like it or not, is a right-wing country, at best centre-right and this is what 'New Labour' were wise to and tapped into in order to get elected.

Miliband suggested a slightly more leftist approach, and look what happened at the Election. Corbyn's got no chance unfortunately and it'll be down to some centre-right spiv like Chukka Ummuna to come in and restore Labour's chances of ever getting elected again.

Luckily for Labour, they will get that chance as Cameron and Osborne et al are making a right royal pig's ear of things even without an effective opposition, and although the British electorate are basically idiots, they will only take so much, however right-wing they may be.

Sorry, no idea where that just came from. As you were! :12:

And I believe Cameron even less than I believed Blair at the time of Iraq. The government will tell whatever lies they need to to fit their agenda, which in this case is to curry favour with the Yanks (as per usual) and the French. Adding our fighter planes to the effort ain't going to achieve anything the Yanks and French haven't already tried, and will just make us even more of a target than we already are. But best your retaliation in first eh Dave? Wouldn't want to look weak in front of Barack Would you now?

:1: :1: We do have to join in with the world elites no matter how futile this bombing campaign will turn out to be trying to bomb bearded blokes in the desert in tents spread out and hiden away making phonecalls to there extreemists over here to attack,,,,yeah bombing will sort this out so best do as wim told as they say :9:

Strange how Syria was alright like Iraq and nobody bothered until the West wanted to topple Assad arming the rebels and leaving ISIS to gain weaponary and armour from when USA left Iraq leaving fully intact tanks and anti aircraft missiles but now we have extreemists using these very armour we gave them to shoot down civilian aircraft etc,,,,,,what is the bigger picture and agenda i do wonder, is it Iran after Syria? We know there is more to it than just bombing ISIS over there Russia has its mates Iran and Assad to protect and we over here have USA wanting to control; that part of the world so imo this is what its about, Oil and gas resources as per usual :21:

That's all it is ever about sadly. There is no humanitarian side to this, or we would be do everything possible to help the millions of refugees fleeing the atrocities, instead of pulling up the drawbridge like we're trying to do now.

Because the Conning Conservatives are soooo much better?

Hilarious?! A bunch of public school boys shuffling jobs around for the boys while filling their pockets as much as possible while those in real need get completely screwed, while those who are supposed to oppose and offer a real alternative fight amongst themselves.

Yep my sides are splitting.

Please if you want to start an alternative thread do, otherwise please stick to the topic of the thread. Thank you.

Looks like Corby's attack dogs Momentum are going to try and deselect any labour MP who dares vote with the government against the great leaders stance.

“Six months after the Vote on bombing Syria the Labour Party Members will lobby in the Constituency Labour Parties to move a vote of no confidence at constituencies meetings in those Labour Party MPs who vote to bomb Syria. If the Vote of no confidence is carried the MPs can then limp on until their selection at the next General Election when they will be deselected. During the 4 year period in the run up to the next general election the whole country will now [sic] of the no confidence in the MPs from their Labour Party constituencies. That is the least the Labour Party members will do to try to wash the blood from their hands of the innocent civilians which the bombs will surely kill.”
