Coolest Footballer Ever

One Bloody Number
Ok, so I know everyone's definition of cool differs, but who is the player you think oozes class and style both on and off the pitch.

Added a few for starters but feel free to add your own, and lets crown the worlds coolest ever footballer!

haha.

I was going to write in my original post "50 cock points to the first person to post a comedy response such as Gabby or Marlon Harewood"

Carlton Palmer is good enough. 50 Cock points to Lewis!

:19:

Of that list it is George Best, ahead of Johan Cruyff

What the greasy little slug Maradonna is doing anywhere near a “cool” list is astounding. :14:

Has to be Sócrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira for me. A doctor, played as if he was having a kick around in the park with his mates, liked a ciggy too, and might as well have played with one on the go.

Everything looked so effortless considering he wore the tightest shorts ever seen on a football pitch. And he was no stranger to wearing a headband too - not many can carry that off. 22 goals in 60 games for Brazil is none too shabby for a striker, let alone a midfielder.

So sad that he passed so young - 57.

Who were those four blokes from Cool Runnings...they had better control of their balls some footballers I could mention.

Lol, Mrs JPA turned up today with a DVD of Cool Runnings; apparently, she's been inspired by the Winter Olympics on TV and felt the urge to watch the film.

I couldn't split it so voted for both Socretes and Pirlo. Both cool as the proverbial.

I do love Zlatan as well, but he's not quite at the level of those guys.

Not sure I see Cantona as cool. He's a bit weird. Weird has never been cool.

Oh she's in for a surprise - behave yourself!

Our very own God. Prepared for games like a Sunday morning pub player , yet turned in performances that defied belief. Made it look like a stroll in the park as well.

I don't think God was cool at all.

Great footballer obviously and cool on the pitch, as you say made it look easy, but off the pitch I know some people can make addiction look cool, but God wasn't one of them. He was a messy alcoholic, not a cool one.

Love the guy to heaven and back, but could never consider him cool. The video he posted the other day only reinforces that.

I was only referring to on the field performances Deano,

Mind you I am surprised Cantona come under consideration though.

I said at the start -

So there is no definitive definition, your version of cool may differ from mine, but for me it's a combination of making the game look easy, and then off the pitch just looking like a rock star/movie star.

Pirlo.

The only player I know that had his own song “georgy georgy , georgy the Belfast Boy”. Sung every home game as the team ran out. That’s cool.

His football was top of this world and his love life was on top of Miss World. That’s cool

And at the end of the day in Monte Carlo just fly back into your own airport. That’s cool.

E for B and Georgy Best , your own breakfast advert. That’s cool.

After watching Puskas magic left foot practised so hard on his left that he said it ended up better than his natural right. Now for a man with so much talent that’s not only cool ......it’s clever.

The coolest and greatest player
Georgie the Belfast boy

George the fifth Beatle, you had to be around at the time to know his coolness went way beyond football. But on the pitch, incredible to watch. Saw us beat Man U both legs in semis league cup. We won but George was frightening, a one man team at that time, a Rolls Royce amongst Fords, whether passing , dribbling or anything else. I’ll never forget it.
