Think it was early-April when Appleton confirmed McGrandles was 50:50 regarding a new contract as he was homesick and fancied a move back to Scotland.

So it would be a shame if he ends up staying in England - especially in League One.

Maybe if he isn’t fixed up in a few weeks then a return is on the cards…

I'm with you entirely. It was a failed attempt at sarcasm. I should have put progress in inverted commas or said so called progress or just used olive. But one man and a typewriter did seem to do a better job than the technologically assisted 'journos' today. Hard to believe the Echo was a daily now. Remember the anticipation of getting a copy late afternoon, especially prior to an evening match. Logging on is not quite the same.
Inevitable I guess as no one would trade the internet for going back to reliance on print.

I'm not knocking Mark Whiley by the way, he has to fit into the Reach regime I'm sure.
