I can't get my head around the idea that a game that has a big portion of luck involved in it, can be conquered. The luck factor can be minimised sure, that's what pro poker players do and why they are the pros.

I love the part where they say this could be linked with security, haven't they seen Terminator? Why don't they just call it Skynet to make sure!

Wonder if this computer is a PC in his spare time?

I luv poker, the Mrs ay so much interested though

I reckon i would kick this computer's metal azz at poker tbh, i won a few tourney's a while back on Sky Poker,

I love gambling. Football, golf, roulette, blackjack, flip of a coin, anything... but I've never really gotten into Poker.

Probably a good thing.

My mates have poker nights every now and then but every single time I need the rules explaining to me again and every single time I don't fully understand, go all in on a shit hand and lose very quickly.

Best way to look at it,

A Straight is numbers in sequence like, 5,6,7,8,9 or Ace is classed as a 1 or comes after a King so you could have 10, Jack, queen, King, Ace highest straight you can get or Ace 2, 3, 4, 5.

Pocket pairs, your hand has a pair of 5's i like pocket hands cos if another 5 comes out in the deck you get trip's that's three of a kind obviously,

Flush, 5 matching cards of the same suit,,,,clubs diamonds, hearts or diamonds

High Card, you win a hand if you and your opponent don't get a winning hand and no matches, so the highest ranked card wins, so if your opponent has the highest card say a jack and you had a Kinng you would win that hand,

Here look and read this site dude it helps explain pretty clearly, practise aswell on this games site for free on AOL Poker on games.com just create a free profile it's all free play no real money wins just pretend chips but some take it real serious actually they all do lol

And here is the rules explained

Yeah I kind of know all that. I think it's more the betting side of it I don't know.

i.e. all the check, raise, call, etc..

Sometimes I'll have a good hand, and bet too big and scare everyone off and only win a small amount.

othertimes I'll have a crap hand and bet too big and lose it all.

I never like to fold if I've got anything above a pair, so i'll tend to go all the way on two pair or better and always end up losing.

if I get 3 of a kind, that's when I raise big and everyone else bails out, so its a waste of a good hand.

So I guess what I'm saying is I know the rules, just not the tactics.

Arrr got ya dude, i prefer to check until the last two turns tbh, if i have a good hand, they do scare off, also don't get excited pretend it is a shit hand cos they will know yam holding something lol, but defo don't raise big i find either before the cards am dealt or the last two turns i do, the check bit or raise is best to mix it up anyway so really i would say betting big with a shit hand now and again is alright anway.
