Sheffield United defender Ben Heneghan has joined Blackpool on a season-long loan.
The centre-back, 24, moved to Bramall Lane from Motherwell for an undisclosed fee last summer, having made 43 appearances for The Well.
A former England C international while with Chester, Heneghan made his Sheffield United debut against Preston North End in January and becomes Blackpool’s eighth signing of the summer window.
Manager Gary Bowyer said:
“I’m delighted to bring Ben to the club and I’d like to thank Sheffield United, who previously paid a considerable transfer fee for him. Ben’s someone we’ve monitored the progress of and I know there’s been quite a few other clubs interested in signing him. His addition will bring more size and stature in both boxes.”
