For those of you who like a little too much of the good stuff, it looks like you may have a friend in coffee.

Interesting article I came across toady on Coffee;

One cup a day could lower the risk of cirrhosis by 22%, researchers found, while two cups reduced the risk by 43%, three cups by 57%, and four cups by 65%.
More than a million people die from cirrhosis each year worldwide. It can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption, immune disorders, hepatitis and fatty liver disease.

It amused my, sometimes childlike, sense of humor to see a thread called coffee started by green tea.

Interesting that the end of article says even a moderate intake of coffee a day can increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

I saw the exact opposite around a year ago, saying something like 4 cups of black coffee a day can reduce the risk of heart disease significantly. Also a friend of mine who is a diabetic drinks coffee like it's going out of style, and he's very careful about how he handles his diabetes, wouldn't his doctor who he goes to regularly have something to say about it?

It's all the contradictions that do my head in

Thats the best news ever.

I drink about 8 cups a day, so surely that means I can safely drink 14 pints of a Saturday night?

WOOHOO!

My coffee intake has increased slightly over the last 18 months, but not much. My alcohol intake has dropped significantly, so does that make me a bit of a winner?............
