I usually agree with this and certainly wouldn’t go back to Cody now - but we “looked back” to him about four times and I’d say he delivered every time.

Am I right in thinking we offered him a deal last summer but he turned it down? I wonder if he regrets that now. Despite not being at his best for a couple of years I think he’d have enjoyed playing with Eaves.

Eaves plays most of his best stuff alone .Cody has always needed someone to feed him chances .That someone is not Eaves .If Wimbledon believed for one moment he was able to score goals at our level i am 100% certain he would not have been paid off .Cody may still be able to do a job in league two or the National league if we were in one of those leagues then worth a punt maybe. If fit of course .We are not we are in league one he us not worth a go .
 
While Cody wasn't particularly quick, a big part of his game was short bursts of rapid acceleration which got him ahead of defenders. In his last spell with us he'd lost that. It's an age thing, sadly.

Whilst I don’t disagree with your comments, I think when McDonald played towards the end of his spell with us he spent a lot of time isolated without a decent partner and would run himself into the ground without any success. With Eaves being the worker and pest he is, I just feel they’d have complimented each other well. But then I could say that about Forster and Akinbiyi, we’ll never know.

You make a fair comment .Eaves is a pest .Cody did not have any support last time .But I will come back to what has happened Cody is not disruptive .But he has been paid off by Neil Ardley .I don't think he is a mug, he is a solid manager at our level .Why he did it and just as important Cody agreed it and did not stay and fight . We may well find out in the next few days .
 
I felt that Cody left the moment we got a hold-up player for him. That said, I expected more from List and Nash but then maybe I’m being too unfair given their inexperience.

Personally I’m not bothered. If we’ve got the money and can’t find anyone better then I won’t mind us getting him back if his wages are quite a way less than last time.

A young cody would make the perfect foil to Eaves. Where do you find a young cody though.
 
Cody was offered a two year deal at Wimbledon and we offered him one with a big pay cut.

Shame it didn't work out for him there.
