Club for sale/investment

And my 10 penny worth
Did a cruise around Iceland with P & O
Went to some amazing places on Orkney, Book of Kells in Dublin, Titanic museum in Belfast, Faroes as well as 3 stops on Iceland.
The ship, very comfortable, there was only about 3 hours in every 24 when food was not available/served (I am sure that you could still use cabin service in that time, in the unlikely event you were starving)
The stops do not really allow you to integrate with the local culture, just a quick pop into town see the highlights and then back on board. My abiding image is of innumerable couples dressed in beige shuffling around Stornoway (there were three ships birthed at the time) it was like a zombie invasion.

On holiday in Madiera queuing for the cable car, there were some crew from a visiting cruise next to us, they told horrendous cruise stories of drunk teenagers, and families told to leave the ship at the next port because of poor behaviour. It sounded brutal.

Went to Santorini last year, stayed just outside Oia, in some spa hotel with individual pools for each little villa. Santorini is the most expensive Greek island i have visited. Had a great time exploring the island on the public buses. We did take the very safe and spectacular cable car down to the embarcation port for Thira (Fira). Some reasonable bars down there. I would not recommend the zigzag path up to the capital. There were some donkeys going up the path but I do not think they offer a donkey passenger service anymore.

Went on Marella Discovery from Montego Bay around Central America a couple of years back an excellent ship just the right size

Carry On Cruising – Aboard the MV Danson

"Welcome aboard the MV Danson, where every budget cut is a shore excursion!"

Captain Mike Danson welcomes passengers aboard while First Officer Lucas patrols the decks with a giant spreadsheet, proudly announcing:

> "Good news everyone! We've reduced the entertainment budget by 100%... think of the savings!"

The newly recruited Entertainment Officer, Jay Whittle, has just finished teaching the passengers the club song when Lucas taps him on the shoulder.

"Brilliant effort, Jay... unfortunately you've now been made redundant. But don't worry, the bingo caller will also be doing karaoke, quizzes and social media."

As Jay walks down the gangplank, Lucas proudly unveils the replacement...

"...a laminated sign saying 'Use your imagination.'"

Meanwhile, on Deck 3, panic breaks out as passengers debate whether Jay jumped ship or was pushed overboard.

The captain calmly reassures everyone:

"Please remain seated. There are absolutely no cuts on this cruise..."

...just fewer crew, no entertainment, one hashtag missing, and the buffet now closes five minutes earlier.

By the final scene, the passengers have stopped talking about football altogether and are enthusiastically comparing Marella, P&O and Royal Caribbean holidays.

Captain Danson sighs:

"At last... the club-for-sale thread has finally become a cruise forum."

Cue the Carry On music... and WN5 shouting from the lifeboat:

"Take each other's numbers, lads!" 🚢😂
