City Ground

I think given most of the objections are from the rowing club there should be a campaign to try and get the fans to not utilise their facilities before and after games, that will definitely hurt their bank balance
Thats fair competition tho if isnt stealing their rowing memberships i suppose and hey, the big guys win here everytime

We desperately need the ground developing, but we should also be doing the right thing by the boat clubs. We should be helping with a relocation, not trying to wipe them out.

Boat houses are shown on the architects illustration and look quite at home in the development. Why are some of their users making such a fuss? I don't think that the club is trying to wipe them out are they?

The new flats are quite close. Could be just genuine clarifications re proximity and light. All for more choices re drinking options pre match. Quite enjoy a pint in one of the clubhouses on occasions.

I see this as a positive. Dialogue with the planners is obviously taking place. 10 days to go until deadline day.

A good number of the objections have been dealt with:

The right to light objection and the one from the Highways agency has been dealt with by specialist consultants employed by the club.

The issue regarding the Roseberry Ave home owner's objections seem to revolve around whether it's an urban area or not. They claim it's a suburban area and the structure is inappropriate.

The club's consultant's have pointed out that the City Ground is situated within the 'Nottingham Urban Area' and several similar structure's are already in place

Maybe Marinakis made them an offer they couldn't refuse?

Yes, I have noticed that whenever a substantial objection has been raised then the club has immediately come back with a fully detailed reply from a specialist consultant. I just hope that RBC are on board with the club anyway ( I feel that they are) and that they will take the side of the club in these matters.

How anyone in nottm could be against this is depressing, the city needs more of this type of development not less.

Hopefully my grandchildren will get to see the new broadmarsh.

New Broadmarsh is coming along nicely chap. They have demolished just about half of it on Collin Street which already is an improvement

I think that was the original plan, then all of a sudden the building were remaining as is, which suggests the club has fucked them off down the river
If you read the latest letter to RBC on the subject sent by Savilles , it looks like the rowing clubs concerns had been addressed.

The original plans saw them being knocked down and replaced with a world class facility. Now they have a shit shed

One of the letters on the RBC site alludes to new facilities, Trent Facing, being built as a separate project; the Boat Club is now in agreement
