That puts him in the same category as Gary Neville who, after witnessing City win the league 18 points ahead if the rags and with a record 100 points, retreated into his Denial Bunker muttering about "The mark of real champions is winning back-to-back titles". He was conspicuously silent on the issue twelve months later.

There is no desire to be called 'European Elite' on the basis on simply winning the Champions League. The intent of the owners goes much wider and he just doesn't get it, simply displaying a commonly shallow understanding of the owner's plans for the club and the CFG.

When people start their comments like this -

“I don’t want to put (Manchester) City down in any way shape or form,”

You know that is exactly what he wants to do.

With the Rags looking likely to get Sancho and our 15% sell on fee activated, and 52 mil from the sale of Leroy, we really haven't spent any money yet. If we really do a 300 mil war chest, who are we going to get?

Spending that sort of amount of money ought to send out a clear message to any youngsters harbouring hopes of breaking into the first team.

As City prepare to take on Lyon in the CL QF in Lisbon what better contrast could there be than a reminder of one of the most pivotal matches Manchester City FC ever played?

The League 2 Play Off Final against Gillingham from May 1999.

As City struggled to return from perhaps the lowest point in in the club’s history they found themselves on the cusp of a humiliating failure, a failure which would doom them to another season in the third tier of English football. With seconds left on the clock City claw their way back from 0-2 down............and the rest history. For without that win the move to the stadium being constructed for the 2002 Commonwealth Games inEast Manchester May never have been possible and without that move........🤔

Think we'll beat Lyon but struggle against BM. It wasn't exactly a classic RM side that we beat but think the Germans might have a bit too much for us. Having said that it's a one off and if PG gets it right as he did against RM then who knows. Wouldn't be surprised to see Athletic Madrid make the final.

An awful lot of out of contract players will be forced into early retirement thanks to Covid. Hands up those that feel our Danny will be any different, high maintenance + injury prone.
