Pep reminding Mendy that the side got along without him last season and can do so again. Mind you, it is interesting that Sané has shone brightly in his absence & this raises the question whether the pair can operate as well in tandem or whether such a progressive full back actually inhibits Sané......

Good point Skoorb, Mendy does seem to take the space that Sané works best in, he seemed to work better with Delph but now Zinchenko has upped his game just needs a few more to get that bonding and team spirit.
 
Manchester City will wait before offering 18-year-old English midfielder Phil Foden a new five-year deal worth about £250,000 a week. Is this right? I personally don't think so
 
The women's team came from 2-0 down away to Birmingham women to snatch it 3-2 goals from Weir (54'minutes), Parris (65'minutes), and Wullaert (73'minutes) Birmingham first goal was a spectacular 50 yard backpass by McManus which bounced over the City keeper's head to give BW the lead on 8 minutes and just after HT Birmingham increased it to two before City laced up their boots and came out worthy winners in the end.
City lie 3rd in the table behind Arsenal and Birmingham.

Good on them for showing the resolve to come back and win, there seems to be a great spirit in that team too.
 
I saw that goal. The keeper ought to have done better but then again she probably wasn't expecting an aerial pass back to her from the halfway line ?

Think this has been obvious for a while - it's as though we have two pairs of left sided players Mendy/Sterling (or a.n other) and Delph (or Zinchenko) and Sane. I guess Mendy's assists against Sane's attacking prowess, a good problem to have assuming you can keep everyone happy.
 
he could try using sané right coming inside and ideal for shooting with his favoured left leg.

For the time being while Mendy is still out, pep will want to keep the play spread as wide as possible to create those gaps in the middle for Silva and Aguero to pop into.
 
Whilst echoes of Emptyhad are always on the lips of those who don't like City another 73,569 see the bore draw by United against Valencia, however only 30k admit to being actually at the game
