Allegedly Sheik Mansour's half brother owns China.

It doesn't look like it will mean anything to us but it won't half rub the rags up the wrong way, muscling in on their personal fiefdom.

Have we received £265 million or not ? If we have, why ? What do we have to give in return ? What does Rising mean by "it doesn't look like it will mean anything to us" ? I appreciate to some of the high-fliers on this site, £265 million doesn't seem like a lot of money but it's better than a kick up the a*se surely ?

What I mean, CB, is I don't think we (MCFC) will see any of this money. I assume it's for direct investment into promoting the group in China. Having said that, of course it's great news because it benefits the promotion of the group.

£265million is for a 13% share in CFG.

The benefit we get is it opens up a whole untapped market for us which should mean massive sponsorship potential from Chinese businesses plus the opportunity to renegotiate our existing sponsorship deals.

That's my limited understanding of it.

Well, according to "studies", the rags have 2.3 billion fans in China. Granted, only 1.4 billion live there, but you can't disagree with "science", right?

This is a direct shot at them, telling them that we've beaten them on the pitch, we'll beat them off the pitch as well.

Sounds good to me BD and Rising.

Hadn't thought about it in that way.

Definitely a major step in the right direction according to the broad sheets and tabloids from what I've read now.

This Sky News report explains it quite well, its all about growing the brand.
