CITY BAN Manchester City banned from Champions League for two years and hit with £25m fine by Uefa

The more I think about that article the more itr p*sses me off. If you go rummaging around in the history of most clubs or players you will unearth someting unsavoury. For this to be published today smacks of the smear campaign taking a different tack to keep the theme of 'coruupy City' alive and kicking just as we submit our appeal to CAS..............

It's not just the BIG HEADLINES..... this smacks of 'dripping tap' effect & helps to add to the impression that Manchester City FC have always been 'rotten to the core' and that corruption is endemic.

As for other clubs check out this list here. Number 29 makes interesting reading but I doubt it gets raised ahead of a dipper v JoMU fixture....

Strictly speaking this is not directly related to our case.......however I think it is legitimate to park this here because of the exposure of the gross hypocrisy at the heart of those complaining about City.

In short Barcelona were allowed to sign a striker outside the transfer window under a La Liga 'Emergency clause' because Dembele is out injured for an extended period. They were allowed to trigger his sale for £15m but the club he was purchased from are screwed because they cannot sign a replacement ..... outside the transfer window.

Fir a more damning indictment seek out Riod Liddle's article in the Sunday Times.

Utter hypocrisy. And UEFA wonder why we boo their 'anthem'.

I read that - ridiculous and totally unfair on the minor team.

Meanwhile the Guardian continues to play their part to keep the pot boiling with this piece on poor old (ahh, bless) Rui Pinto, the computer hacker (aka thief) who supplied the documents to Der Spiegel and who remains in jail awaiting trial for theft.

Interestingly the article makes this reference from one of the Der Spiegel journalists to other.....

"documents which would show the accounts clubs are hiding from FFP." (Emphasis added)

Funnily enough, DS haven't seen fit to bother expanding their quest for justice to exposing any of these other clubs. Not have they been fulsome in making a case for UEFA to investigate any of these alleged offenders.

I make no comment or judgement on the merits of the case or its outcome, I simply would direct attention to the second paragraph of the article.......

"the United Arab Emirates, a close Gulf ally of Britain"

The Guardian: Dubai ruler organised kidnapping of his children, UK court rules.

🤔 I thought we were backed by owners from an oil rich state beset by allegations of human rights abuses?

I guess it's all about perspective.....or should I say whatever fits the narrative?

The rules are different in most of the middle east.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the ruler of Dubai, but it is his brother who runs MCFG, (our Sheikh.)

As usual he doesn't pull his punches. Would love the know who his "allies" are in the ECA. They wouldn't be the same crowd who love ffp now would they 🤔

I have Martin Samuel's Mail web page saved on my favourites.

This text is in the piece referred to.....

"In other words, the closed shop. That is what he wants for the Champions League. To seal it from meritocracy, the same handful of wealthy elite clubs playing the same repetitive fixtures year after year, regardless of their quality".

Why isn't it called what it essentially is? The super league by the open back door?

It's going to get very cloudy. Clearly with all the travel bans in place and unlikely to be lifted any time soon it may be quite some time no any progress will be made.
