City 3 Arsenal 1 - Stats Link & Post Match Reaction & Debate

Wenger probably doesn't mean anything he is saying - all he is trying to do is deflect any criticism from either his players or his team selection - damage limitation in going with Coquolin instead of Lacazette.

Good result for Chelsea - football has definitely been the winner today.

They highlighted it very clearly and it shows where Raheem was tripped, the offside was offside, but all clubs have been victims and beneficiaries of wrong decisions concerning offsides.

Indeed. Pep himself mentioned Arsenal winning v Burnley (?) last season in the 96th minute with a goal that was handled into the net. I don’t expect Wenger complained about the standard of refereeing then.

It's worst than that Skoorb, the last time City lost it was to Arsenal in a match where Sergio Aguero scored a goal wrongly ruled out.

a disallowed Aguero effort shortly before the break after the assistant referee judged Leroy Sane’s cross to have curled out of play.

Leroy Sane delivered cross from right flank but linesman said it went out of play
Replays showed ball never fully crossed line so goal should have been allowed
Rio Ferdinand said he would have been chasing linesman at half time

Wasn't there also a question of offside as well before the handball? :048:

I've been trying to find an update on Delph's injury at the end of the game but with no success. With Otters suspended for Leicester this could be a concern.

Not shown as withdrawn from the Internationals yet, so it may just have been a dead leg, fingers crossed

I hope you're right Buzz but he was clutching his knee.

There was indeed. Wenger said at the time “we were fortunate”. Well, what goes around, comes around Arsene.

Fingers crossed for Delph. Otamendi’s suspension may well be a problem unless VK can finally regain fitness otherwise. The stability of the defensive unit has been a solid foundation for our success so far. Danilo can do a job at LB of course if required.

Some of the Gooner’s comments about yesterday’s results are priceless......
