Cheltenham v Notts

Vital Reserves Team
A response is very much needed after the Accrington match. Let's hope we can maintain our good away form. I won't go as far as predicting a clean sheet but I think we will get something out of the game. I'll go for 1-1.

Don't know what to expect Runner, my head says if we play with no tempo or pace we'll keep losing but part of me thinks there should be enough in the squad to pick up results.
No clean sheets yet , and we haven't looked like hammering anyone in the games I've seen so I'll go 1-0 Cheltenham. 100% wrong so far this season I hope to keep the run going.

I've only been to Whaddon Road once but I have very happy memories of that game. I am sure that we took a 2-0 lead in a matter of minutes (I think Danny Allsopp got at least one of them). Then, in the second half, Mark Stallard scored in front of the Notts fans by dummying the keeper, leaving him flat on his backside before rolling the ball into the net. I'm sure he was laughing as the ball crossed the line. I think we won 4-1.

Stall was always a class act for Notts.

Superb result. It sounded like the players put in a hell of a shift. Happy Saturday evening fellow Pies

Colin Slater is a Notts legend but I must say I enjoyed David Jackson's commentary he told us what was happening on the pitch all the time.

Me too but I couldn't help thinking how much Uncle Colin would have enjoyed commentating on Pedro's son coming on to make his league debut for Notts. I'm sure that Pedro was looking down with great pride. If Jordan can make half the impact that his dad did, we will have a cracking player in our hands.

We need to start having clean sheets though.

Good to get the win and take the lead for once. Defence is leaky and you can't keep needing to score three to win though.
Stats say three shots on target so Cheltenham must feel a little aggrieved that they all went in.

Our first two goals were excellent finishes. I suspect that their goalkeeper will be disappointed with the third though as it seemed to go through him.

Orient should be interesting on Saturday. They've a big budget but aren't a happy club by all accounts and having lost at home to Yeovil will want to bounce back.
We have got to start producing at home and get going from kick off ,not waiting til we're losing to chase the game.
For all our indifference, we aren't a million miles away from the top seven, a home win would leave us one defeat in six which isn't too shabby.

By scoring first yesterday, we finally got the first of 3 monkeys off our back. Now for a home win and a clean sheet.
