The actions of Maureen and the club were clearly indefensible and the prospect of the details coming out in the open forced their hand. Well played to Carniero and her team.

I can't help wondering if the rags didn't have a hand in this outcome in some way. They would not have wanted their new saviour embroiled in a tawdry court case as he begins his rescue mission (another reason why he told the rag fans to 'forget the last three years')
 
Agree with your last point, Skoorb.

Hearing the full details of the case would no doubt have been entertaining, but it's probably best this case is now laid to rest.
