Conte:

"My look is tired because I feel like I played it tonight with my players, I suffered with them.

"But we must be pleased because we beat a strong team - the best team in the league. I think they have a great coach - the best in the world. To win this type of game at this time of the season is great.

"Now we need to rest and recover as we have another game in two days' time."

Kompany:

“Obviously, we are not happy but I can't say I'm disappointed with the performance. We are disappointed we couldn’t win the game.

"Other than that, it was a good performance. Physically, we stood up to the challenge and we dominated the game.

"You have to give credit to Chelsea - they defended well, they are solid and they really don't need a lot of chances to score a goal.

“I really have to say: we didn't look shaky. We were solid, we were dealing with the counter-attacks really well.

Guardiola:

“It’s an honour to have the amazing players I have.

“We come here to Stamford Bridge and play the way we have, with huge personality. I’m a lucky guy to manage these guys.

“It’s encouraging for the future. I’m optimistic. It’s been like this all season but in the boxes we are not good enough.

“We created enough to score goals. It’s our problem. But my players play in one way and that’s why I want to be here – to help Man City for years.

“The people who are watching us must be proud of our fans. We did everything.”

Conte parked the bus in the second half. Signalled his intent right from the resumption with the installation of Matic alongside Kante. Thoroughly professional job but never something Pep will contemplate.

I apologise to Caballero, re the first goal, it does not show it in the live screening for the first goal but was highlighted on MotD when Willy had it covered VK gets a head to it and wrong foots him making it look like a GK error.

I thought we played really well and were on top they got their noses in front and defended really well in the second half, when they changed tactics and sat back, another good game to watch for the neutrals but so close for City and a bit annoyed at the Referee for letting Chelsea get away with some tonight, but they played well and had the luck which had deserted us for the moment.

I think Chelsea will struggle next season when they get European games added on to their schedule.

We can still win a trophy this season but really the aim is to stay in the top four.

The commentators were very harsh on WC for both goals .

The first - there was a slight deflection for the first but it was travelling at some pace and any deviation would be difficult to react to - I was fuming at how they were critical of him. The deflection was faint but enough to ensure that he couldn't readjust his footing in the split-second before the ball passed him.

The penalty - well diving full length I am sure his aim was to push the ball away from goal but it's hardly a precise science and all down to fractions of seconds and where the ball strikes the arm. Seemed to me that it caught him on the inside of his wrist which sent the ball straight back. Another saved penalty but very unfortunate with where the ball rebounded.

I too think that Chelsea will find playing multiple games in several competitions will make next season a different prospect. The ability to concentrate on preparation for the Premier League without midweek travel in Europe etc has had a huge effect of their performances - increased time on the training ground; fewer injuries etc. They won't have that luxury next season.

Spot on and i am begging to wish you had the option to turn these annoyances off, i would rather listen to the game without them giving their opinions i do not care what they think as its usually hearsay and a load of bollocks.

We use the mute button for most of the game.

Mute button is no good for me Buzz, I like to "hear" the atmosphere, but like Chippy, the commentators can get under the skin at times.

I try find a foreign stream. Watched on ESPN Brazil the other night, much more pleasant experience than have to listen to the usual claptrap.

They just so rarely provide any balance.

Wednesday we had ex-Chelsea player manager Glenn Hoddle co-commentating and ex-rag Rio Ferdinand and ex-dipper Steven Gerrard in the studio. I now never bother with the half time 'discussion' as it is usually likely to have me throwing something at the screen. I do not beleive that it is too much to ask for people who are being paid large sums of money to do a professional; job to be able to put aside their bias, stop sucking up to their old constituents and comment on what they see without using tinted lenses. :017:

Andy Hinchcliffe seems to manage it whenever he covers a game - even when he is assisting (albeit rarely) at City games he is fair and balanced and I am pretty sure that unless you knew his background a neutral would not be able to detect he played for City.

It isn't difficult, it is just being professional.

(I know, this is not what the broadcasters want but FFS how many rag or dipper fans would be likely to be paying attention to a City or a Chelsea game and really paying attention?)
