I'm getting my car insured today. Does anyone know any cheep insurence company's?

No, they are all thieving bastards.

For what it's worth, I use Hastings Direct and they were about £150 cheaper than anyone else.

Funny enough was online last night looking at renewing both my cars as are they are due mid july.

I concur JPA. Tell me how the hell insurance on a 2007 Mazda 6 has gone up by £40 from last when the car is a year older, i havent had any accidents or had any motoring offences.
Absolute bullshit.

As for looking sasquatch, just go online on price comparison, if you set up a login it will save all your details and makes it easier to look at comparing and renew the following year rather than re entering it all which is a pain.

For what its worth I use Hastings and after a phone call protesting the price hike after some asshole run into the back of me they lower the price back down.

When we lived in the UK, we used Co-op Insurance. They give you a discount if you're a member (costs nothing, why not?) and they had a deal for first-timers of £100 worth of grocery vouchers. Now, this was a couple of years back.

Cheapest is not always cheapest, always worth considering what you actually get with/included in your policy. I have 2 cars so having a "replacement vehicle straight away" is not an issue.
Most policies have the "a replacement vehicle whilst yours is getting repaired" this could be weeks.... cost of a hire car for 2-3 weeks?

Some offer free breakdown cover, this could be a healthy saving but again check the level of cover offered.

Thanks everyone. I know it's not good to renew with the same insurence. It usually goes up if you do that. So much for customer loyalty.

I had the slightly ridiculous situation one time of cancelling with the Co-op and then starting again as a "new" customer in order to get the grocery vouchers.

Another thing to watch out for is if you get a renewal price from your current insurer, if you go online with same insurer it will be cheaper. Had this before and spoke with the insurer in question and they told me that it was simply a fact that they offer cheaper quotes online.

Ridiculous, why can't they just give the cheapest price whether you phone, online or mail.

Sas I have to ask this? please tell me you spelt cheap as cheep wrongly, deliberately, when you made this thread? Just it's doing my ruddy head in and my OCD is having a wail of a time :10:

Reminds me of the song by Middle of The Road: anyone want to ''Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep''
