Ched Evans Signs for Oldham

Freeman14 - 8/1/2015 13:16

His gf's dad was apparently going to cover his wages and any loss of sponsors at Oldham http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/ched-evans-girlfriends-family-offer-8395494

As a father to some lovely daughters, I wouldn't be so accepting of one of my daughters going out with a convicted rapist, I wonder why he's so supportive?

"One board member told the BBC that a supporter had sickeningly told them they knew where their daughter worked and that she would be raped should the club follow through with plans to sign him."

Awesome!

Harry Redknapp even points out that a drunk driver who wiped out and killed a family is now playing football, another drunk driver who fled the scene of the crime, back playing football, are we saying that rape is a worse crime than killing someone?

Have you considered that the "victim" is being hounded because people know the truth?

Or biased fans and friends who are gutted to lose a top striker/ mate over a girl who means nothing to them, which I think is more likely to be fair.

He has issued an apology now, which is pretty balanced. He should have done it beforehand though..

http://news.sky.com/story/1404284/ched-evans-oldham-deal-off-after-threats

Some of these lovely people threatening the club have also threatened rape, according to the article! That makes them so much better than Evans doesn't? I do say that with sarcasm.

I am a Mom of a gorgeous daughter also. My Daughter wouldn't have put herself in that position. So glad my daughter has a stability I never had when I was young because of circumstances.

I just find all this bizarre has women are doing this every weekend, going out getting plastered and finding out the next morning they have been with some guy they don't remember, going to bed with. It's a good job all the men who have been in this position can't be jailed as the jails would be even fuller than what they are, and alot fewer men walking the streets.

I am not belittling the expectancy of footballers today that they think it is there right, to have whatever they want. In many ways this was always waiting to happen.

I just don't see it as a ''normal'' rape case. That said he has been convicted, whether it was right or not, whether it gets overturned or not, so it was always going to be a difficult for him to return to a high profile job.

How would he know, he only has Ched's word to go by, and he wouldn't exactly admit to being a rapist to the father of his gf would he?

I expect the father is just standing by his daughter. Who knows why? I found that strange too. Or maybe he has been in a similar situation, and has he is not famous

He probably also knows if he asks her to choose between her bf and her father, which way that could go.

The deal's off according to the IRISH TIMES.

Turn it the other way, why is he bankrolling a piece of trash that at the very least cheated on his daughter with another girl's consent? It's because she loves and believes Chedwyn and her father can't undo that, and he doesn't want to lose her.

I don't know, it's a sad case all round what ever really happened, unfortunately we live in a sick world that seems to be getting sicker by the day, where there are sleazy, scumbag, evil bastards who will force themselves on women using whatever means necessary to do so, drink, drugs, intimidation, physical violence, and also just to mix it up a bit there are snakes with tits who will think nothing of ruining a mans life and cry wolf for many reasons, from attention, to spite, to covering up cheating, and this case does a good job at highlighting both skid marks on society. Truth is I don't care for either party, so I'll not be wasting any more of my life on it or arguing with any of my fellow Villans over it. :94:

It's a grey area regarding the conviction.

all I can say is he was convicted (and I have faith in the system), so I guess that's the only thing that needs to be considered.

If everybody in prison was actually guilty then I would agree with you, but they're not.

I know, but on average you'd have to trust the legal system. As we don't have the details and none of us were there, any talk of him being innocent is a bold statement. The only fact we can be 100% sure of is that he was found guilty.

From what I've heard I think it sounded potentially questionable conviction, but my opinion is irrelevant because I wasn't there when it happened or in the courtroom during the case so there's no point making sweeping statements saying he was innocent.

I don't know that the world is any sicker than it was, when we really look back at recorded history: Just today media news is 24/7 so it feels as if it is.

Agrees freeman I don't care either way for any of them. I like the debate side of it though, which sounds cynical I know. Good to hear others views without any threats

I just don't understand why Evans is so hated for being a ravist, let him rave in peace ffs and enjoy himself in a field with loads of fellow ravers :112:

I can't see how they did CDX: She doesn't remember it as she was in blackout and yet they say they believe her version, she doesn't remember. The guilty verdict is bonkers. I am in no way standing up for him, as there are too many in football that think they have a right to take anything they want now, however as his mate with him wasn't found guilty I just don't get how he could be.

They need to fast track this appeal and get it sorted.

Sky are now reporting front page that the deal is off with Oldham

Must admit KK, at the time I couldn't work out how one got convicted and the other not. Sleazy? Definitely. Rape? I'm not so sure.
Just out of interest, in the age of equality, why is a drunk female not responsible for her actions, but an equally drunk male having sex with a drunk female is guilty of rape?

Just bumped into Ched Evans and asked him the best way to Oldham.Round the throat after a bottle of vodka was not the answer I expected.

Hence the link I posted which has become a problem in American colleges...
http://www.businessinsider.com/occidental-sexual-assault-2014-9?IR=T

Got expelled for 'rape' the facts of the case are not disputed by anybody the woman accepts them as true as does the guy... The sexual assault policy places the burden of responsibility on the man... The women in this case texts her friend saying 'I am going to have sex' and its recognized both were as drunk as each other... But due to the policy he is now a sex offender because they ruled despite being 'black-out drunk' like her he is expected to respond in a sober capacity...

Its worrying just how easy your world could come crashing down... The obvious is dont mix alcohol and sex but reality is I live in NY Im 25 even a quick drink for a date with a girl can turn into more... On its happened for everyone couple drinks more and we're both going to be more relaxed and this thought is straight out of my head...

In this case I think it is because he is a footballer; If they locked very guy up who had sex on a weekend/week day with a girl who couldn't remember properly the next morning then there would be few males walking the streets for women to get laid by.

It's ludicrous. Most people can't think out of the box that this is ridiculous

CDX I have read through the article: I am shaking my head. The world is getting madder. They were both intoxicated. They are both responsible. Here is what the problem lies today with so many things and that people want to play the blame game and not take responsibility

It's like everything else that happens in this age of extreme's it goes too far the other way whether it be the human rights, health & safety and in this case sex equality.

Good point

But where should the line be? A drunk scumbag forcing himself on a woman for example can't be free to do that because he's drunk.
