That man is back again, this time at Charlton.

Former Brighton, Luton. Stoke and Southampton manager, a Merthyr boy and Cardiff City fan, Nathan Jones is now at Charlton. Last May he guided the Addicks to promotion from League One through the play-offs and they have made a good start in the Championship, presently in 6th place on 19 points.

Jones is considered a nemesis by most Swans fans primarily due to his outspoken support for our arch-rivals, Cardiff City, combined with his managerial successes against the Swans.

For example during his two stints as manager of Luton Town , Jones openly celebrated victories over the Swans, dancing up and down the touchline, way over the top with theatrical flair, in front of our fans.

Charlton last six games W3 D2 L1 F10 A5 - 3rd in form table

Swansea last six games W2 D2 L2 F6 A7 - 14th in form table

The next batch of games coming up will be a tough test for the Swans. Charlton away, on Saturday, with barely enough time to recover from Wednesday night and having to travel to London on Friday. Then Preston away next Wednesday (Bonfire Night) and Ipswich at home the following Saturday before the International break is upon us once again.

41’ Idah races free from Vigouroux kick out, Franco free in front of goal, Idah doesn’t pass it, hesitates and loses the ball, very poor from him. He’s been anonymous all first-half.
44’ Eom beats defender on the left, keeps ball in play, crosses into the box, cleared.
46’ Ronald free central, shoots, slices it and almost hits the corner flag.

HT: 0-0
Should be ahead, but we are poor up front, 5 shots only 1 weak shot on target, straight at the goalkeeper.

Within ten seconds of the start they concede, Swansea players sleeping, pathetic defending, Casey misses the ball, Kelman scores at the near post.
How poor we are.
48’ Charlton almost score again, Swansea so lethargic.
50’ Idah fires over from Eom pass
53’ Galbraith shot over the bar from a corner
54’ Eom cross Idah gets under it and heads over the bar
Swansea players finally woken up?
58’ Galbraith cross straight to the goalkeeper

1-1
63’ Idah turns beats the two centre-backs, right foot shot to the far corner of the goal
65’ Widell for Eom, Inoussa for Ronald

68’ Charlton tactical stop, goalkeeper “injured”, Jones has good talk to his players and interrupts Swans in the ascendancy. You see this so often in matches now.
76’ Ref gives free kick for non-foul by Galbraith central area 30 yards out comes to nothing, which is exactly what he’s given us all match.
84’ All Swansea this half. Widell and Inoussa have made the difference.
86’ Fulton for Franco
88’ Carey shot Vigouroux saves
90’ Key skies a shot from close range
91’ Idah shoots wide but is battling well

96’ FT: 1-1
Should have won it second-half so many chances, good point in the end, but could have been so much more.
We can’t seem to kill teams off due to our poor finishing, which is obvious from our number of goals scored, 13 in 13 matches.
