Pools have parted company with Neil Mcdonald, and appointed Elliott Dickenson as first team coach.

I've thought for a few weeks that we've heard little from Mcdonald, so perhaps he wasn't what SG needed to support him?

He’s working alongside Featherstone I believe, think Grayson might be looking over his shoulder a bit, not a comfortable way to work but probably fits Raj’s M.O.

Basics today, get the job done and get home.

It's an interesting line-up today, possibly more for those not on teamsheet. Still no Campbell, and at least one of the loanees absent.
Pools should still be strong enough to get the result 🤔

Well I didn't see that coming!
SG has been sacked after yesterday's FA Cup performance.

Back to the Drawing Board - once again!
I feel like I'm in one of those reoccurring nightmares , different characters but same outcomes

Think it was all too predictable after McDonald’s demise. Quickly bringing in the new fella to work alongside Featherstone spoke volumes. Grayson was living on borrowed time.
There must be an amount of time served before compensation is triggered and the owner has to pay out, it’s the only reason managers of HUFC don’t get enough time. No person can payout the amount of compo to ex managers that our current owner is, if he is.
This cannot continue, it’s almost despotic, surely the sports governing body must look at owners who act this way??

Well I'm surprised you didn't see it coming, Old Poolie, because it's happened in this way to all recent managers. There must be some unexplained reason why anyone would want to come and work here these days.

I suspect there must be truth in this, billy. But you still have to ask why a competent person would use this as a reason not to give a manager enough time.

On reflection Grabeca perhaps I should have anticipated this turn of events!
It would seem that after last week's dismissal of SG's assistant he needed to demonstrate that the squad was behind him. Unfortunately, for SG, the performance at Gainsborough was anything but indicative of SG being able to motivate the players.

We can only hope that Featherstone is able to get the players on his side.

Out of the Cup, perhaps Pools can concentrate on, avoiding relegation from, the League?
The team/club seems to be devoid of direction, hope, ambition; but how that is rectified after years of decline is beyond my imagination.

It’s a bit like the old joke, about the Thatcher government, “how do you get a small business?……..Start with a big one!

Not saying we were a big club, but we were a league club, holding our own and enjoying the odd day in the sun, Darlo away - Effion’s goals, Cardiff, Daly & Effion, Sunderland, the unbelievable following that day and Boydy against Sheff Wed, granted that wasn’t a sunny day.

Almost feels like it was all in vain as we scrimp & scrape around, not even for bargains but taking punts on players with an injury laden past then being surprised when they get injured and we’re dumped out of a competition by a side from two tiers below where we are now, as Fergie said “hard work will overcome natural talent when natural talent doesn’t work hard enough”

Typically we’re all over the place, a group of individuals devoid of working for each other, we’re not supporting each other when we’ve got the ball, we’re not working for each other when we’re trying to get it back. There is some talent and some grafters in the side, I won’t use the word team as there is no teamwork evident in recent performances.

It’s not any one thing it’s a combination of many, lack of investment from the owner, poor training techniques or training on artificial stuff then playing on real stuff, confusing tactics from managers, players wanting to be professional footballers then playing like pub teams, there’s no substance to any of it unfortunately, it’s all for show however it’s a
sh!£show currently and it doesn’t look like changing for the better only getting worse.
Topical at the moment, with Christmas coming up, the words of Clark Griswold ringing in my ears “how can it get any worse, we’re standing at the threshold of hell”

Whilst not on the same timeline; the shenanigans at Notts Forest currently prove that our hierarchy aren't in a league of their own!
