Championship clubs threatening to break away so they can be more greedy

Really can't see how this works, unless there is a tie in with the Premier League. If people think that 16 top European teams breaking away would get boring, where would this leave 15 mediocre Championship clubs playing with no promotion or relegation?

Let's just disband football instead.

Why would the PL clubs consent to share their loot with another 16 teams?

If the PL loses 6 or 7 of its largest and best supported clubs to a European League, the left behind PL clubs are going to be looking for support from some of the better supported Championship clubs in order to get the best TV deal possible.

Despite being in the PL, clubs like Fulham and Cardiff and Huddersfield are of little interest to SKY or BT because they do not have the pulling power required.

The TV Companies will still be dependent on advertising revenue, that is why the same clubs, like Forest and Leeds, have their games broadcast so frequently.

SKY unashamedly admitted this was the case around two years ago; they are out to make money not to be fair to smaller clubs with little or no support.

Us, Leeds, Sheep, Villa etc probably have a point as our games will get much higher viewing figures than Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Watford etc. However it’s the chronic money mismanagement that has put us all in this situation & more money will only be pissed away.

Believe it or not but the big boys actually support this move - they want the division to be 18 and some inside the FA are also in agreement in cutting down the number of games.

They have been talking about this for years to bring it in line with the other major European leagues. There have always been two main barriers though.

How to lose 2 extra teams and how do you reduce the league size without losing revenue for the remaining clubs ( cos that just wouldn’t be on...).

Are they not one short, therefore? 20 teams in prem + 15 breakaway championship clubs = 35?
