Chairman's letter re: season tickets

Do you think the club paid £10 per take-up? Cost price? No way.

WX, I believe that the net income sum per £10 to GFC was £8.50 - though am not sure about it. The sum received also varied on the basis of "agreed away followings" .

Interesting thing is that, as far as next season is concerned, do Paul Scally`s plans outlined in the S/T letter take into account something that GFC may already know, or not know, about a revised iFollow arrangement. I shall wait for news around iFollow before I consider paying the £100 club fee.

After deducting VAT, the amount is £8.33.

GFC isn’t a charity. Why would it do anything at cost-price? Should match day tickets be sold at cost price too?

If you`re specifically asking me, then no, though i`m not sure how they would work out "cost price"

We all understand the dilemma faced by the chairman and pretty well all of us appreciate his efforts but this was a classic Scally offering. Too wordy, too much finger pointing and rather more self justification than I find comfortable. I'm not outraged, I will renew but that 1893 "club" is a nonsense and I back market's prediction.

I could easily condense the letter by75% while making it friendlier and more effective. I rather think many of us could do so. I will confine myself to the £100 and wonder whether a straight out request for a similar donation might have been better immediately after the thanks to fans. I am sure that a roll of honour to acknowledge donors would have given better value and would have been better received. It could have been headlined as contributing towards a new signing too. I'm not much exercised over his salary.

bit like the old 'buy a brick' donation. Anyone remember when that was?

1960's Main Stand or facilities just to the east of them. Dad bought one. They didn't give him a brick. The scales fell from my eyes, that day, I can tell you. It was revolutionary socialism or bust (mainly bust) from that point on, a life forged in struggle (struggles largely of my own making, admittedly). Finally, they knocked it down, and the bastards never even gave him his brick then. I'll never forget his face the day I told him about this final insult. He looked me, bewilderment etched in every line of his aged face and he said, what on earth are you on about?

Remember when they did that white shirt with the names of all the ST holders on it.
Still got mine, somewhere.
Raised a few quid I expect.
