This is the email
Hi everyone,
Every time I write to you it seems to be more bad news. So I apologise... but here I go again.
For the last year we've been in frequent contact with Trading Standards. They in turn have been in contact with MHRA (the government's medicine body). Through this connection, we've been aware that the MHRA have been considering labeling CBD a medicine rather than a food supplement.
What does this mean to you?
Quite simply, it means Love CBD will no longer be legally allowed to sell CBD to you.
Now, today, we have received word from MHRA that the decision has been made and in 28 days we will have to stop selling all CBD products.
So basically we have from now until the start of November. So I suggest that you stock up now, because in 28 days we won't be able to sell you any of these products ever again.
The Huge Flaw in MHRA's Thinking:
In my view, CBD probably should be classified as a medicine - if you think about it, it's certainly closer to a medicine than a food. However, MHRA's decision presumably means no one will be able to legally buy CBD in the UK until it reaches the NHS. Which could take years.
So there will be a gap of potentially several years during which CBD will be completely unavailable.
There is a second problem: the CBD which will be initially available on the NHS will probably be Epidiolex, which is the only CBD medication we're aware of. This is a pure CBD medication which is currently being trialled for epilepsy. In our experience of trying many, many CBD products over the last couple of years, pure CBD is much less effective than whole plant CBD containing a full array of cannabinoids and terpenes. As you know, our Entourage Oil is based on this idea.
So, due to MHRA you will not be able to buy Love CBD Oil anymore but you won't be given access to CBD through your doctor for... no one knows how long.
And, believe it or not, that's a best case scenario. It doesn't take into account that the trials into Epidiolex are for a few specific forms of epilepsy only. So will your doctor be able to prescribe you Epidiolex for pain or anxiety? We don't know.
What can you do?
I hope you agree with us that something needs to be done. Here are our ideas:
1) Contact your local newspaper or radio station explaining the situation
2) Contact your local MP about this. If you're not sure who your MP is visit this website to get their details.
3) Fill out this review form. Write about whether CBD helps you and write about how your life will be negatively affected when you can no longer access CBD. We will then put all the comments on our front page when CBD is banned. We will also write to every newspaper explaining what is going on, and show them the testimonials.
4) Review us on Trustpilot - (a lot of people visit our Trustpilot page via Google, so it will inform them about the situation).
Finally...
I expect to get a lot of emails about this, understandably. Please don't be offended if we aren't able to reply to you. We're both working flat out at the moment trying to figure out ways of not losing the business we've spent the last two years creating. We've got an insane amount of work to do, but rest assured every email will be read... and suffice to say I believe we're all in this together. This affects all of us.
Kind regards,
Dan
