Careful lads, a storm is brewing

Looks like the Cabaye Riots are back on:

If Newcastle United are not sold, only Mike Ashley is to blame for the storm it will unleash

Mike Ashley has been here before, too many times to be trusted. Newcastle United are up for sale, he says he wants out and is close to finding a buyer. The end is near, supporters rejoice and then, well, nothing.
A man who prides himself on his ability to get a deal done, a man who rises every morning thinking, ‘how will I make more money today’, has been consistently hopeless in getting this one over the line.
This is your moment to prove you are better than you seem. This is the chance to stand aside, to put the football club before your own stubborn self-interest, to bring to an end the 11-year-relationship which has brought so much misery and malcontent on both sides.
Let Newcastle supporters move on and find someone else, someone who can give them what they want. Make them somebody else’s problem.
Why stay, why refuse to leave? You have not enjoyed yourself for years, you have not been happy, let it go. You have tried, but you failed. Get on with your life, throw yourself into saving the High Street, focus on what you truly love, your retail empire. You are good at that. But if you are playing a game, trying to wriggle out of spending any money in January, attempting to avoid the challenge of keeping Rafa Benitez as manager, if you are using talk of takeovers to quell the latest supporter rebellion against you, then you will find nobody else is playing anymore.

If this is all a trick, a con, a ploy, a slight of hand, then everyone will see it. If you fail to sell this time, then it is your fault and yours alone. If you are the boy who cried wolf, then its jaws are about to close tightly around you.

If you do not move on, if you cannot find the right buyer, with the right amount of money to invest on this occasion, then admit it, you do not want to sell. Take the club off the market and do what needs to be done in terms of recruitment and Benitez’s new contract. If you are merely trying to get out of investing in new players in January, then you have miscalculated the situation badly.
Let us get a few things clear, because we must try to cut through the fog of the off-the-record briefings, from the various sources who hide behind a cloak of public anonymity, who shape stories like these.
Only one person has spoken publicly and that is Ashley himself. He was the man who said he was close to selling, that the takeover process was “further along that it had ever been before”.

None of the potential buyers had courted publicity. They have, as he demanded, maintained anonymity, the negotiations carried out in secret, away from the media glare.
It was you who made this play out in public, so if there is a “tyre kicker” – one of your favourite phrases – it is you who is booting the rubber. There was no need to go public, that is not how you normally do things, so why do it now?

It is a question that cannot be answered, it is a mystery, just like the leak from within the club this week that there are four groups who have shown they are willing to match the asking price of more than £300 million.
This is not coming from those trying to buy the club, how could information like that?
Newcastle supporters have called off a planned protest against Ashley this weekend because of the intense takeover talk. The boycott of the Wolves match cancelled because, you might actually be leaving soon. People have believed you, so why risk harming the team’s chances of winning a home game?

When the possibility of a takeover emerges, Newcastle supporters are like someone waiting for news of a loved one having emergency surgery.
It is another agonising wait, just as it was this time last year when you failed to sell the club to Amanda Staveley. A process you eventually described as a “complete waste of time” in the middle of the January transfer window, leaving just two weeks to sign players; players Benitez had wanted for months.
It was the same when you put the club up for sale after Kevin Keegan quit as manager in 2008, just as it was when Newcastle were relegated to the Championship in 2009.

We heard all the same sort of things. You wanted to sell, but nobody had the money, nobody could do the deal, no matter how hard you tried or how genuine your intentions were, Newcastle were stuck with you.
If it happens again, brace yourself, because a storm is coming.

Bloody hell Luke Edwards will never be invited to a curry house by wor Mike that's for sure.

The one thing that pisses me off though is his separation of Benitez from the famous five.

He's more potent than Charnley,Nickson,Bishop and Barnes, that's reflected in his salary.

Still a damaging enough report though, the question is are the people who really count listening.

So over a decade of lies & the tories & mike are clinging on by their dirty fingernails, unbelievable.
That's what apathy does.
Pains me to say but the North East should hang its head.

The fat bastard must be pissing himself laughing at how easy it was to get the Wolves "protest" called off, although actually it might have been even funnier to let it go ahead
