Cardiff v Aston Villa, 2nd January 3pm

Alert Team
Might as well get the ball rolling as it were.....

Cardiff away next. They're struggling at the bottom of the table, and are there for the taking.

This one is "clearly a win" (©JP Fear) and I can't wait to stick it to Neil Warnock again.

This starts a run of 4 very winnable League games, and I fully expect us to do the necessary in all 4.

2-0 Villa :94:

We'll be kicked all over the park again JPA. Our 2 Jan signings that Bruce has lined up should be eligible - Rhino from Gladiators and "Clubber" Lang from Rocky III to shore up the midfield.

Should be able to outplay them, so if we take our chances can see us winning.

Agreed 2-0 Villa :94:

Clearly a Villa win :94:

Got a few coming up now that should be winnable to really push us upward to the top six

Off to the valleys to watch this one boyo , and I am fully expecting a win.

I wish Grealish was available for this one , we would get about 10 penalties .

And so predicting which of Hutton, Westwood, Ayew, Grealish will be given an undeserved starting spot?

Looks like Grealish is out after getting a slight bruise to his thigh.

The other 3 hasbeens will start.

I sense the 1 in 32 goal specialist being wheeled out for this, wonder if he will sporting his Christmas snood?

Should be a convincing 3 or 4 goal drubbing. I actually fear it will be another scratchy 1 goal victory.

Hopefully we'll be fully stocked with shiney new players by the 2nd of January.

Wrong re Grealish , it won't be a "slight bruise" as you put it. It was a nasty one I wasn't far away from it and heard the impact , it made me wince and dead legs take a week or so to clear up.

It'll be a bruising encounter and we need to be up for a fight from the first whistle. Midfield could be our achilles heel still so the defence are going to have to be vigilant. Hopefully we will grab the 3 points but I reckon we might hang on for a point out of this. Teams like Cardiff who are struggling should be a cake walk but Villa don't do easy wins. I just hope they are not too exhausted by their efforts at VP against Burton and Leeds. I wonder if Bruce will make massive changes to keep things fresh. I reckon our starting line up will be:

Gollini
Hutton Elphick Chester Amavi
Garner Jedinak
Adomah Westwood Ayew
Kodjia (Agbonlahor if Kodjia is off to ACN)

Hopefully Kodjia will be able to play and will help us to a win. We could be in for a difficult spell without Kodjia, Ayew and even Gestede. Left only with McCormack who has not impressed me at all and Agonlahor who should not be playing professional football it could be a difficult month

Nasty one :56:

Bunn
Bacuna Chester Baker Amavi
Adomah Jedinak Tshibola Grealish
McCormack Ayew

I'd like to see Flabby left out of the match day programme altogether Starchild. I'm going to go with the above. I know it won't happen but there is no Hutton, Westwood or Agbonlahor anywhere near it - so I reckon a 5-0 win to Villa

At least if we can say that McCormack is our only option, we can try to play to his strengths and set up our midfield accordingly.

Anyone know of the pubs fans will be congregating at pre match? Haven't been to Cardiff since 2009 but I remember there being one right outside the station.

Cardiff get a few more days rest, albeit a wasted drive to Brighton. We could've done with them getting a battering tonight and all
